USC Trojans (official thread)

We have them too. I remember somebody on this board stating emphatically that Tressel didn't do anything wrong because he was working undercover for the FBI to take down a drug dealing ring, and that's why he stayed quiet and lied to the university and ncaa. That makes USC guy sound practically sane.

That's like nearly half of the plot of The Departed

While internet-crazy-guy is always fun to laugh at, no fan base should be judged by their antics (with the exception of fan bases that comprise only that kind of person, but that would be more of a cult than a fan base).

Except Bama fans.

That's like nearly half of the plot of The Departed

Um, spoilers next time.

As the coaching search continues, Pac-12 insider John Canzano of the Oregonian reported Sunday that Franklin is at the top of the list for USC entering mid-October.

“USC football… talked to a few industry insiders this weekend about the Trojans’ search for the next head coach,” Canzano tweeted. “Left those talks thinking James Franklin ends up with the job.”

As for USC, Canzano said Franklin ending up with the job is a high possibility.

Odds on him leaving if Ohio State runs the old #6 on them on the 30th?

This is fantastic for 2 reasons:

1) USC hires another "meh" coach
2) The Cults melts down in spectacular fashion when they realize they're a stepping stone program.

If the Buckeyes run a #6 on PSU, the real danger is the same people that were boasting about him continuing Joe's "success with honor" will murder him for throwing the game for a few dollars from Ohio State boosters.

Those same mutants were ready to run him out of town on a rail before his team blocked a FG for a TD and won a miracle in a game where they were being dominated by OSU.

They've parroted "success with honor" into the echo chamber enough times since, that they believe it.

I've never seen someone's career trajectory change so much on a single play.

I always thought it was against the rules for a defensive lineman to just wrap his arms around an offensive lineman and tackle him to the ground, opening up a path for another defender to vault over the line and block the kick. Not that night, apparently. As much as PSU fans like to bitch about officiating, you’ll never hear them acknowledge that.

Let's check in on the predictive accuracy of that "new rule"

Head to Head:
Ohio State has won 12 games to 3
In those 15 games Ohio State has outscored them 31.13 - 18.53

Overall
Records: Ohio State 180-27 Ped: 143-62
Conference championships: Ohio State 10 Ped 3
National Championships: Ohio State 1 Ped 0
Playoff Appearances: 4 Ped 0

New rule, indeed.

Serves them right for what they did to Joe Pa.
