USC off-field issues (merged)

Poor conduct this. USC is a team full of angels compared to these two examples:

Runner-up, the excessive endzone celebration:

Winner, taunting after making the hard tackle:

Most of the players at USC are former high school superstar divas, and know they are going to USC to play with other superstars, live the Hollywood life, dominate the Pac 10, and go to the NFL.

Pete Carroll is a great coach, but the Trojans are certainly not a team at the top of the list for the any sportsmanship awards.

USC, because of their high profile, is certainly one glaring example, but it's almost everywhere. How many times do you see a kid jumping around and flexing his muscles after a TFL or even a routine tackle while his team is getting thumped by 20+ points? If I were a coach and my players were doing this crap when we were losing, his ass would be on the bench. That's one thing that makes me proud of tOSU; outside of the occasional celebration, for the most part our guys get up and run back to the huddle. I also love how they pretty much always just hand the ball to the ref after scoring. That's all JT right there. I loved Santonio, but got irritated those couple times he dove into the endzone back in '04 and '05.

It starts with the NFL, and then trickles down to CFB after kids watch the antics on Sunday. Remember Reggie Bush pointing at the Bears defender and then flipping into the endzone last year in the NFC championship game?(while still down by two scores...) Same thing with the prancing around after making a tackle on a RB who just gained 2-3 yards. This crap started in the NFL with guys flexing their muscles and playing air guitar after making an assist on a tackle, now it is happening in college. At least there are still a few unsportmanslike conduct flags thrown at this level.

Can't really say anything. Dorsey does that damn Hacksaw Jim Duggan dance everytime he tackles someone. That and the stupid ass, hand in front of the face our secondary seems to think looks good.

Yeah I think John Cena will be filing suit against the entire LSU secondary for copyright infrigement.

The whole team does that "You Can't see me" thing. On a different note, LaRon gave every player he ever hit an absolute earful after the play.

Does he have that thing copyrighted?

Is there a team that gets away with more showboating, fingerpointing, trash talking than USC? Reminds me of Miami in the Schnellenbarger (SP) era. Do they not call that shit in the PAC 10?

Just be glad that OSU is above such behavior. People who are honest with themselves know there's a big difference between standards of conduct at OSU and USC.

Yes, with OSU it appears the fireworks happen in the locker room.

Having watched quite a few USC games (along with everyone else), they don't pull any more stunts than say someone from the Big Ten or the SEC normally would do (or Big XII or ACC or Big East)......

This isn't just an USC issue, it is an issue on the entire landscape of CFB.

That's because we get called for it even when we need to dive into the endzone.

*recalls Holmes getting flagged as he dove in splitting between two defenders
