USC can forget about winning it all now

I don't know where the Mark May curse ranks, but I have to believe that it ranks somewhere below the SI curse and the "With the #1 pick in the NFL draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select quarterback..." curse. The voodoo doll industry is booming in Westwood and South Bend, as well. Unless Oregon mega-booster Phil Knight ordered Nike to add weights or hallucinogens to the SC jerseys, I think SC will get by the floats.

Now, ASU looks like another matter entirely. Our streak started there, so maybe that is where you should be directing your pagan exercises.

Didn't ASU stop Nebraska's long streak back in the mid-90's too? Hmmm...you may be right.

I agree with methomps. I think Oregon will keep it closer than their previous opponents this year, but Oregon haven't seen anything like USC yet.

Nevertheless, teams are vulnerable when they get used to putting so many points on the board and winning so easily. Often its a lot of luck, an early turnover or crushing tackle that gets the guys motivated and then one things leads to another and teams believe they actually can win.

So, Oregon has an outside chance.

Arizona State seems like the one with the best chance to me, except I'm not sure what LSU came to the game with after all that those folks have been through. Let's not forget our famous loss to MSU at home!

Hey everybody, they have played Hawaii, and Arkansas- two of the best defenses in the entire league!

For christ sake, only Pitt is superior to USC anyway!

Meanwhile the OSU linebackers are way too slow, the Hawaii and Arkansas linebackers on the other hand...

I hope everyone here is smart enough to understand that this is a joke...

USC has to play Cal at Cal and Cal is back. Last week they played without their #1 back and three of their best O-Linemen and still put away Illinois. The week before they tore Washington a new asshole... in Seattle. The bears might just be the team to do the nasty on the Trojums.

Now if 14 takes down the Texas receiver in the end zone, if their field goal that hit the uprights goes left, if Hamby catches the ball, if the Texas punter doesn't grab Holmes ankle, if ..... all of this would matter. I haven't given up hope that it still will. I've seen wilder seasons.

Not to wish injury to any player, but certain players getting hurt (as they often do in football) could change things dramaticly. I know they are deep but you could not replace what ML brings to the field, (and yes I know there are studs with the clip boards).

edit for smelling
