USA Today Coaches Poll is out

Yeah I wouldnt trust the preseason polls that much but those teams in the top 10 look pretty solid. The Pre Poll never accounts(and cant really) for the cinderella teams. I mean, we all know Purdue's schedule but what if they went undefeated? That would still be amazing. I like tOSU spot. Being a Cal boy I do think we are a bit overrated at 20th even though we could win our first 5(easy part of the schedule).

I will end every post with a hearty endorsement from the Pac10 because we love our Big10 brothers:

!Beat UT Beat UT Beat UT Beat UT Beat UT Beat UT Beat UT Beat UT Beat UT!

Let history speak for itself. LLLoyd needs to get a cranial-rectalotomy and get serious about ND. I'm tired of having to explain how the first/second best program in the Big 10 can't beat the Irish. It makes the rest of the league look weak.

In your (U of M) case self loathing is not only admirable, but also a sign of personal growth.

Huh? What are you talking about? We're [STRIKE]4-2[/STRIKE] 3-3 (thanks, Jaxbuck, I misread a score) against Notre Dame since 1997.

Actually, I was referring to MSU hating Michigan. I'm a grad student there.

gobears92: There will be more than a few Buckeyes pulling for your team against USC, too...
sorry gobears92 I won't be rooting for Cal against USC. I want the Trojans in the Rose Bowl. But for the reason that you mentioned. THE Ohio State University vs. USC in THE ROSE BOWL (Big 10 vs. PAC 10) for the National Championship. Let me say it loud and clear... It simply can not get any better than that.

As for the poll... I do not care about any poll this early in the season (pre-season). The Bucks need to take care of business every week and they will end up in Pasadena

Ummm....maybe he's talking about this:

1997 W
1998 L
1999 W
2000 DNP
2001 DNP
2002 L
2003 W
2004 L

I may not be real smart but thats 3 and 3 where I went to school.

Well, the good thing about us playing pre-season #2, #4, and #10 (as a minimum) is that it will finally allow us to unseat Notre Dame as the Strength of Schedule national champion. :roll1:

Michigan at #4 is an absolute fucking joke. We have way more of our starting corps returning than does Michigan, we spanked them like tibor spanks his goats, and yet they're five places above us.

Sorry, ND has #1, #3 ,#4 along with #16 and 25...:)

The Big Ten's best should not regularly be in danger of losing to a barely eligible team. Every year has their exceptions, but ND had your number during some of their worst years in recent memory.

Since 1997, 2004 is the only year that's true. ND was pretty good in 1998 and 2002, far from barely eligible.

But even the 1997 (7-6) and 1999 (5-7) Notre Dame teams gave you huge scares (21-14 and 26-22) when they lost at your place. In fact, those scores indicate you were indeed in danger of losing to a "barely eligible", or even "ineligible", Notre Dame team.

I disagree that 21-14 is a "huge scare." I agree on the 1999 game, but I guess I still don't see how we deserved this comment:

Since 1997, Michigan has lost only once to a truly unworthy Notre Dame team. I've never heard anyone else intimate that Michigan-ND is any different from your typical rivalry game in a way that makes the Big 10 look bad. Upsets happen in rivalries. What's the big deal?
