US-Canada Olympic Men's Hockey

Very Rarely you'll see a regular season game this spirited. However the NHL playoffs are like nothing else in professional sports IMO.

I've probably seen 10 minutes of NHL hockey, but I can get into the national team's games. Pretty much like every other Olympic sport.

Part of that is the lack of national exposure the NHL gets because their commish is a fucktard. Part of it is also that hockey is the hardest sport to get parents interested in because of the costs of equipment and relative (compared to Canada and northern Europe) lack of ice in the US.

I can't give you an answer because Im the exact same way about hockey/olympics. I try to watch Blue Jackets game when I have time, but it's hard when they are normally losing.

Basically, NBC is pissing on their customers. Guarantee more people want to watch this game than ice dancing.

And I know it's about money. It should be about the country, but NBC is fucking retarded.

NBC has no leadership and seems to think that running their coverage in the same way as previous failed Olympics will work for some reason this time around.....

Basically, Dick Ebersol is emulating Gary Buttman.

I agree with you - give me hockey - but I wouldn't be so sure about that guarantee. Fucking figure skating is very popular with American women, most of whom never watch hockey.

no, Rick Nash and Crosby aren't usually on the same line much less the same team, even when you have two super stars on a team like the Penguins with Crosby and Malkin they aren't on the ice at the same time

Hitchcock's style isn't exactly exciting. He's gone now though. Check them out after the Olympic break, they've been much more exciting with the new coach.

 Rafalski gives luck a lot of credit. I agree with him, unfortunately.

As somebody who only watches hockey once every four years (or if I get free tickets), I'd say no.

I agree with BuckeyeMike that the NHL playoffs are a different animal, and I used to be somewhat interested in it when I was younger. I can't bring myself to watch even that anymore. I don't what changed besides the broadcast rights.

An underrated aspect of this year's Olympics are the constant bickering between Jeremy Roenick and Mike Milbury. Not so much right now, but I'm sure it's coming..

Mike Milbury, an analyst - ex-GM who traded Roberto Luongo and Olli Jokinen for Oleg Kvasha and Mark Parrish. Not only that, but he traded Jason Spezza and Zdeno Chara for Alexei Yashin. Pretty sure Yashin still gets like 3 mill per year from the Islanders.
