Right now it is obvious that the story was leaked/created with a ton of bad information. The 9 calls to the police.....all BS crap no abuse. And if it can be proven that Urban gave this info to the AD then the AD is in much bigger trouble than Urban. I don't see anyway Urban loses his job.....except one and that is the stench of the POS doctor that offed himself a few years ago. That whole nasty affair may cause the University to over react to show that they have a zero tolerance policy and allow them to point at firing the one of the top 2 coaches in College football today as proof they should be left alone about the Doctor. And that it could never happen again.

I ask myself how much longer before I get arrested for not spying on my neighbors to see if they have broken a law. Or getting arrested because I knew my kid broke a law and I did not turn his dumb ass in. No the direction of this society is not one to my liking that is for 100% sure.

Are you joking? This is beyond hyperbole into idiocy. I get where you are coming from, but this is arguably the most influential intrastate person in Ohio bald faced lying to the press about his subordinate repeatedly beating a woman, that press that is there to hold such men to accountability.

It has nothing to do with spying on your neighbors. That is patently absurd.

Take off your scarlet glasses.

Do I think he should go? I am honestly just watching. But this type of talk is incredibly unhelpful.

So I am the lone vote guessing he gets dismissed so far, out of 38.

I don't necessarily want that, I don't even know all the facts.

But to watch people be so tribalistic and devoid of 3rd party logical reasoning, only seeing the good in their own, while these same people decried Penn State alum or Florida State alum or anyone else (granted, it turns out rightfully), is freaking embarrassing to our University.

So..how are we supposed to feel? Are we to become better people by saying he will be dismissed?

It seems to me that if I say he should be dismissed I'm confirming that Zach 'beat the shit out of courtney' and Urban actively protected Zach while he was doing it.

I can't be sure of the first one, and have no reason to believe the second one.

It’s frustrating to see people defending Urban. It’s embarrassing to see people spreading rumors about Courtney Smith.

And I can think those things and still believe Urban should keep his job. I think too many people feel they have to defend Urban unconditionally to justify wanting him to stay. It doesn’t have to be either/or.

I am not saying he should be, I am saying the absolute reluctance to intelligently address the subject with any objectivity is frightening.

If, what Urban posted is true and I have no reason to believe it is not, then a dismissal makes no sense. I don't see this board being anywhere close to or head in the sand as to what I read on the PSU or FSU boards during those times. Every fan base has their idiots, its the way it is.

I haven't checked on this in a few days, but where I left it... this is my 3rd party objectivity...

1. Urban likely answered truthfully to not knowing about 2015 police report. Knowing about an incident, which may or may not be same as previous, isn't the same as the question he answered. "Gotchya" reporter has repeatedly lied on this technicality via Facebook; but that's Facebook journalistic integrity for you I guess.
2. Urban knowing about at least one incident in 2015 makes his faux shock eye-roll inducing.
3. Urban has set himself up to get destroyed regarding stated morals, 0 tolerance, difference between disciplining young adult students vs. paid staff, etc. -- and deserves all that criticism and more.
4. She's on the record stating that her parents and his parents convinced her to drop charges. There wasn't the slightest indication that Shelley (or Urban) advised her on those points... if anything the texts demonstrate they were getting both sides.
5. Urban was aware of various incidents and did nothing. Never should have been hired at Ohio State after 2009 incident. It's difficult to fire off of rumors and hearsay after that... they fired very fast when she finally stuck to charges.
6. My read of her interview is that she's very bitter about all of this (understanding), but unwilling to blame her parents for their shit advice and unsatisfied merely going after the shitbag. Ohio State has become the easy target for her rage. It is what it is. Her parents share a lot of the blame for this imo, advising their own daughter to stick it out, try to change him, drop charges, etc.

This isn't a case of children needing their rights protected by adults who are eyewitnesses. She's an adult that chose not to bring charges and there were no eyewitnesses.

This isn't a case of local PD deliberately sabotaging a criminal investigation on behest of University PD while leaking information to a University chosen lawyer representing the perpetrator.

I couldn’t agree more with any post I’ve read over the past several days.

I honestly think Urbs is going to say "fuck this" by the time it's over. He shouldn't have had to go through this mess if what he stated was completely true. The avalanche of SJWs about to flood onto campus into Columbus is going to drag the whole bunch of them through the mud. I still believe he's a good man and he won't want all of this to happen. Same as the last guy really, he'll fall on the sword for his team.

I'm not quite at the extreme of seeing SJWs take over Ohio State or that Urban is all that is just and such ... but I do think this is the most likely way he doesn't end up keeping his job. He chooses to leave for greener pastures cuz "fuck that noise".
Half the ACC, all of the SEC, and all of the BXII wouldn't blink an eye at hiring him tomorrow.
