I'm not quite at the extreme of seeing SJWs take over Ohio State or that Urban is all that is just and such ... but I do think this is the most likely way he doesn't end up keeping his job. He chooses to leave for greener pastures cuz "fuck that noise".
Half the ACC, all of the SEC, and all of the BXII wouldn't blink an eye at hiring him tomorrow.
You are the problem. It does not take a social justice warrior or any other pejorative term for someone who doesn't support lying about staff beating women to be righteous.

If someone ever beats your wife or daughter, and I refuse to hide it, I would love you to call me a social justice warrior to my face. That is despicable for you to even get near. That term is used by misogynists and idiots.

It’s frustrating to see people defending Urban. It’s embarrassing to see people spreading rumors about Courtney Smith.

And I can think those things and still believe Urban should keep his job. I think too many people feel they have to defend Urban unconditionally to justify wanting him to stay. It doesn’t have to be either/or.
This is where I have been all along. I voted that he would be fully reinstated because if he didn’t do anything wrong they have no justification to toss a suspension just cuz, and if they don’t believe him and try to suspend him for too long he’ll fight it or leave. His answer at BTMD leaves him with a credibility problem, and he will have to make a public statement about that, but I don’t think he is dismissed or suspended at the end, assuming nothing worse comes out.

I am not saying he should be, I am saying the absolute reluctance to intelligently address the subject with any objectivity is frightening.

The fact that you have an issue with a simple poll regarding the outcome for Urban and assume the results are based on 'Blind Brand Faith' is frightening.

I think most people on this board are infinitely better than that. Show me where Urban covered up for someone beating on his wife and I'll change my vote. Until then I have my own thoughts on it.

What I find amazing is that somehow Brett McMurphy landed the biggest story of his life just a few weeks before losing his espn payment plan. All while his new outfit gets an exclusive interview that made me have even more questions than answers. Not to mention after Zach gets fired but right before their court date. Say what you want but that bothers the shit out of me. It raises a red flag in my mind.

Oh and what a story it is right? I mean it has Urban Meyer, Courtney Smith, Shelley Meyer, and a built in you can't question it at all domestic violence clause (due to 2009). Are we allowed to even ask for some 3rd party verification on the texts messages before we fire our second NC winning coach? I mean ffs give me two cell phones and I can recreate those messages. Hell I can show Russian collusion and that pets can use phones while I'm at it.

IMHO if Urban is guilty of anything, it's giving Zach a second chance in 2009. I get it and can live with it. Is it a major flaw or crime to try and help people these days?

Well I was done and was about to post it but now that I've seen a few more of your responses I can see that you believe Urban covered up a crime for Zach...I think that's pretty fucking ludicrous to assume but I'm sure I can't change your mind about it.

Sorry, I am angry and done here. I don't want any of this, as none of us do.

But the rally to Urban despite everything upsets me. I hope he did everything right, and everything works out.

But rationalizing at this point purely for the sake of defending one's own is indefensible intellectually. We all need to wait and see.

I struggle with this....I just do. And I don’t want to keep recycling the same talking points but:

If Urban is made aware of a domestic violence incident in 2015, in which Courtney wants to pursue charges (which is very relevant bc often times victims push for police to not press charges after calling police) and the police investigate and don’t pursue any charges, I’m of the opinion he’s OK to keep Zach on staff even if we think he’s a shithead.

I would just say it’s important to keep in mind, after the arrest in 2009, Urban says after collecting all information the “story changed”. An incident happened but it wasn’t what was alleged in the initial police report. That lends itself to Courtney and Zach both acknowledging something different happened than what was initially filed the night of the arrest. Ultimately the charges are dropped.

I just think Urban was guilty of being too trusting in Zach and willing to honor his loyalty in Earle. Way too much risk in an entitled guy in Zach who has probably had “easy street” his entire life.

That said....Urban told Zach he was done if it came out he abused Courtney. The police opted not to press charges....that’s significant. Urban didn’t handle the investigation and as far as we now influence the investigations in any way. I still give him a pass if he notified his superior, or even if his superiors were made aware outside of Urban directly giving them the info. If Gene Smith had the information first hand from Powell PD, I just don’t see how this lands in Urban.

Again, we are talking about potentially firing Urban Meyer for the actions of another grown adult, that did not lead to any criminal charges in the moment. That’s astonishing to me.....

I honestly think Urbs is going to say "fuck this" by the time it's over. He shouldn't have had to go through this mess if what he stated was completely true. The avalanche of SJWs about to flood onto campus into Columbus is going to drag the whole bunch of them through the mud. I still believe he's a good man and he won't want all of this to happen. Same as the last guy really, he'll fall on the sword for his team.
He's going through this because he lied at media days... there will be no "fuck this" moment for UFM. If there is he will never be welcome back here IMO.

He brought this on himself with the media day fiasco and then not firing Zach in 2015.

He didn't do anything illegal but he for sure brought this on the university.

If you give him a 1 or 2 game suspension for lying to media, it feeds the mob....just give them the middle finger and full reinstate him.

I disagree....I think the lie, on such a sensitive topic, does earn a suspension.

The only way I’d give him a pass is if the Athletic Department was part of the strategy for him to answer questions the way he did.

I believe there is still a possibility his answers were guided in part by the athletic department who were aware of 2015 incidents but knew they were sealed. It’s possinle OSU thought the 2015 incidents were so protected they were in the clear, and actually coached Meyer to take that stance. McMurphy having the texts with Shelley was the bombshell no one accounted for.

It’s interesting in Urbans statement he calls being “ill-prepared” to answer questions about Zach. Is that solely an Urban problem, or did he rely on advice from the university which also had knowledge of 2015 incidents, including the AD having direct conversations with Zach?

No. It doesn't. If there was no wrong doing. No punishment. Any form of punishment leads to more speculation and minor admission to guilt regardless if they say the suspension was lying to media. Plus there is 0 reason to punish if he did no wrong. Don't cave into demand of the mob. Reinstate if no wrong doing or terminate.

Three things and I really don't mean to be a dick about it I promise.

1. I never even heard of a social justice warrior until people were unhappy with a vote.

2. Not sure he was talking about you but that some SJW group wants to descend on Columbus because of institutional wife beating covering upping.

3. Show me where Urban has supported or committed lying about beating women up.

I can’t imagine the university would have, as part of their plan, UFM saying “I don’t know who makes this stuff up”, or whatever the exact phrasing was, for something they all knew existed, and for him to agree to doing that ahead of time. That would say something else entirely.

To be clear, I quoted somebody else talking about "avalanche of SJWs about to flood onto campus" ... and I responded that I didn't exactly agree with that sentiment.

If people are going to fly off the handle, they should actually read the posts that are making them upset.
So much for all that talk about "objectivity".
