Such a sad day for Ohio State. We are now venturing into unknown territory. We went Tressel to another elite coach in Urban. Is Day the next Lincoln Riley or is he just a good assistant coach? We will see.

I guess good news is that Billy Davis probably goes too?

I’d suggest that to many Tres was as much if not more of an unknown, at this level, as Day. Sure he had head coaching experience, but in a much smaller / lower pressure setting.

I’m totally willing to see how things go with Day before preparing for a funeral.

It was a great run and an unbelievable hire after what happened with Tress. Lucky to see some of the most dynamic offenses in Ohio State history, countless big wins, (7-0) and a National Championship. Here's to winning the Rose Bowl for Urban and these seniors.

That’s cool, and I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but why even come back for 2018?

To add to this, I wonder if Meyer stayed on to ensure a smooth transition to Day but made the decision to retire before he came back from suspension.

I was so pleased when Urban was announced as the HC at tOSU. His opening presser really struck home with me due to all of his comments about what the job and the state meant to him.
I wish we had more time with him as the HC. I will miss seeing him on the sidelines. My best to him and his family.

When he was hired, I told my then-girlfriend (now wife), we'd get 7-10 years and he'd be gone. So in a way, I'm not too surprised. On the other hand, now that we're 7 years in, I really thought we'd have another year or two.
