Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

It has already begun. Pro coaches and players getting upset with him cause his maniacal commitment to winning has him yelling at them during pressing and they are like bro what you talking about it's preseason...

Also irking members of Jacksonville is Meyer's seemingly control-freak attitude, with Meyer taking over practice drills when they're not run to his exact specifications and expectations.

This is why Jacksonville is Jacksonville, and why the other historically bad teams are historically bad. It reads like “the coach was mean to me and hurt my feelings.” Do it right and you don’t have to be corrected.

Yep. Dealing with college kids trying to get to the next level is one thing, dealing with multi-millionaires who are already there is another.

Some of it is brought on by his own actions, and some of it is just what a public figure has to deal with....but this guy can't fart without the world turning it into a thing. Every time we had an incomplete pass or gave up a sack, there's the cameras focusing on him...and the announcers to magnify how he's upset with the result. Like, no shit....he's supposed to be happy at a turnover? Every coach reacts badly to bad news. Now every time a job opens up he's gotta waste energy on this shit? It must get exhausting.

I get what your saying but no one held a gun to his head.

Jaguars HC Urban Meyer shoots down the USC rumors right away, “no way.”

He's just 1 NFL game into what is very likely a $9M or $10M annual salary for 4 years or more (guaranteed). Why would he want to give that up for USC (who has a recent record of firing their HC every other year)?

Yeah, I think people overestimate how attractive that job is. Take away Pete Carroll (and it’s debatable how much of that success was on the up and up) and that program has been largely mediocre for the last 40 years. In fact, subtracting Petey’s years, since 1980 they have just:

5 ten win seasons
4 Top ten finishes
1 Top five finish
0 National Championships
8 Bowl wins

And they’ve finished the year unranked 17 times. They didn’t even go to a Bowl 12 times. Their next hire will be their 11th coach in that time period, meaning the average coach there has lasted approximately 4 years. They have not been able to attract any premier head coaches. Petey is, by FAR, the most successful coach in that period and he was thought to be a terrible hire and their fans almost rioted.

That’s not much of a track record.

No one is holding a gun to any coaches head. Are they asking the new Falcons coach if he's interested in the USC job? Does the new Jets coach like it when his QB throws an interception? They don't have guns to their heads either.
He was a media creation until he left Florida in what the world considered as weakness. I could not deal with what he deals with daily… I would have stayed at Fox but he is driven with just enough arrogance to think he thrives in every circumstance. I wish him good luck..
