Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

Because Nick Saban coached in this timeline. Also, it seemed so flukey that we only played for 1 NC despite his absurd winning percentage. Tressel played for 3 while winning 80% of his games. Felt somewhat incomplete under Meyer.

That said....Meyer still lived up to the lofty expectations I had for him when he was hired.

played for 1 technically, but still 2016 team made the CFP only to run into Clem.:smash:

After all the bitching I've done about never lining up under center, this video shows exactly why I'm a dumbass keyboard jock while Urban's won 3 NCs while making 7 mill a year at a place like OSU.
I like to focus not so much on whether the QB is under center or not, but on how dumb it is to purposefully leave someone at the LOS unblocked in short yardage. Especially when you are Ohio State and you have better players at the LOS 95% of the time.

You take a play that should be well above a 50%+ success rate just based on your players vs their players alone and make it worse than 50/50 based on the QB making a good/bad read and the unblocked DE making a good play.

It was ESPECIALLY stupid with Haskins when the defense wasn’t worried even a little bit about the threat of a QB run.

I will believe that forever based on seeing it over and over.

There is zero doubt that Ohio State struggled in short yardage last year and that is why.

Urban admits he left the starters in versus Wisconsin in 2014 up 45-0 because he knew they had to blow the Badgers out.

"I had to protect our school and our team and try to put more points-- and then sportsmanship; I don't agree with that. Did I do it? I did it. Because I had a job to do and that was get Ohio State into the playoff."

He would be an awesome AD or conference leader. A system that rewards strength of schedule and shuts up esecpn would make college football even better.
