So basically he lost as many conference games as TTUN Lost bowl games in that period. TTUN probably would have lost more, but they weren’t eligible for bowls one year. Lol.His B1G regular season record is 54-4 (.931). That's essentially losing one conference game every two years. Stupefying...
I expect him to try to coach again at some point unless Shelley puts her foot down and tells him no. However I don't think he will ever be less intense. It is who he is and what makes him such a great coach. I don't think he can just turn that off even if we were to coach middle school football.I fully expect Meyer to coach again, at a place where his connection to the place is less intense and fan expectations are lower. And I'll be okay with that.
Glad he's getting a chance to relax and get well.
Let him coach baseball.I don't think Urban can stay away from the game for too long. He will either get his fix by staying close to the program or he will end up doing some broadcasting or involved with a company tied to college or pro football. But unless he finds a non coaching gig he loves that pays decent money I expect him coaching somewhere in the 2022 season.
He's made a ton of money but when you don't have an income coming in like you're used too after a few years it can make it pretty tempting when someone puts a big pile of cash in front of you to turn it down. That's why I think the only way he stays out of coaching is he gets a nice salary doing some flexible job he enjoys.
The Golden Era started on Jan 18, 2001.We watched the Golden Era of Ohio State Football. I am not sure it will ever be matched unfortunately. I am hoping for the best, but I have no expectations of ever being on the same level Urban had OSU for 7 years.
All of Urban's bowls were NY6 or playoff games.
Urban Meyer in NY6/Playoffs: 5-2
Rest of B1G in NY6/Playoffs: 5-6
Here's how Ohio State compared to the rest of the Big Ten during Urban Meyer's tenure:
Team Overall Record Overall Win% Big Ten Record Big Ten Win% All Bowl Record NY6 Bowl Record Ohio State Buckeyes 86-9 .905 58-5 .921 5-2 5-2 Wisconsin Badgers 70-25 .737 45-18 .714 5-2 2-1 Michigan State Spartans 63-29 .685 40-21 .656 4-2 2-1 Penn State Nittany Lions 60-30 .667 38-22 .633 2-3 1-1 Michigan Wolverines 58-32 .644 38-21 .644 1-5 0-2
