I said back when he took the job that he was going to have a really tough go of it in the NFL. Urban seems like a guy that hates losing even more than he loves winning. In CFB, a BAD year for the programs he coached consisted of 3 losses. He never lost more than 2 in his 7 years in Columbus. Hell, he looked like a Zombie after losing 2 in 2013. A "good" NFL team goes 10-6 (or 10-7 in today's world). That's 6-7 losses in one season. In a typical year, only 2-4 teams across the entire league lose 3 games or less. He took a job with one of the absolute worst franchises in professional sports. The culture was terrible. The roster was barren. He wasn't walking into a situation where a talented roster was in place that just needed to be "coached up." They were weak across the board. In a perfect world, he was looking at 2-3 years before they were a competitive team. Add in dealing with the egos of 40+ multi-millionaires each season and the scrutiny that was on him from day 1 and it was a toxic stew that left him zero margin for error. I honestly thought it was 50/50 at best that he made it past 1 season.
I hope he really just takes some time off to try to repair whatever damage has been done to both himself and his family. Really, I hope he's done coaching. Urban burns too hot and already has underlying health issues. That's not a recipe for a man to live into his golden years.
