Spring Game cancelled
Too many injuries to the O-line and an iffy QB situation. Clayton Richards is playing baseball and Matt Gutierrez isn't healthy enough yet to go through a spring game. Basically they were worried about injuries to Henne and O-lineman that might occur in a spring game.
4-3 formation confirmed
Carr has said publically that hey will be switching to a 4-3 after their woes with the 3-4. The conversion of Woods and Woodley seem to support this plan.
DL
Woods and Woodley are both being moved to the DL (as they should have been long ago due to their DE size). Woodley was a force in the texas game, and was fairly effective around the corner once he moved to DE in The Game. They return a very good DT in Gabe Watson. Their DL should be very good next year.
LB
Woods/Woodley gone from LB. Reid got injured last year and will never play again, and Manning graduated. That means all four starters at LB will not be there. Burgess only saw limited time last year, and when he did in the Texas game his stat sheet looked good with 7 tackles 1 INT and 2 pass def. But him and the rest of the other LBs hands were greased up as they couldn't tackle Young to save their lives. Crable is 6'5" 250 and he's staying at LB this year. Hermann's fired within the year, no question. Fortunately it will be at the end of this year after Smith has a chance to outdo his other UM performance.
CB
Jackson & Shazor are gone, as well as the average Mundy (which speaks to how bad their replacements are). Leon Hall is a sound, but hardly a shut down corner. Morgan Trent has ben converted to CB with his 6'1" size and being the fastest player on the team. All tOSU recruiting experts are drooling for 5'8" Harrison (my mistake, all Michigan fans will remind us that he's 5'8.5" :slappy) to work his way into 2 deep so gonzo can get some experience as a jump ball receiver
