UFC 86: Quinton Jackson vs. Forrest Griffin

great fight...Forrest is a tough dude. Rampage as humble as can be in defeat. Personally I thought it was 3-1 rampage going into the final round, with Forrest winning round 5. Rematch is certainly in order. We'll see.

Here is a toll free number to call 1-800-whaa

Rampage talked alot of shit and he didn't back it up. Check out some of the pre fight interviews with Jackson:lol: Seemed a bit over convident did he?

Got his ass handed back to him, IMO Griffin has more heart.

Not that Rampage wouldnt kick my ass, until I TASER'd him...., but did anyone else think he looked a little soft in the midsection. His legs looked like tree trunks though, and Griffin's strategy is probably the only way to beat Rampage. Great heart by the NEW champion....What else would you expect from a fighter born in Columbus OH!!!!

Griffin has more heart than most of the fighters in the UFC. That being said, all the pre fight shit talking is for nothing more than ratings. They are salesmen also.

Rampage was about the classiest fighter post loss I've ever seen.

I can't wait for the rematch. If it's half the fight this one was, it will be well worth the money too.

Who's The Underdog Now? Griffin Wins War over Rampage to Take UFC Crown

By Thomas Gerbasi

LAS VEGAS, July 5 -In the days leading up to the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship bout between Forrest Griffin
and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, fans and pundits almost unanimously agreed that, on paper, the champion, Jackson, should win. Yet those comments were always followed by the word "but" and some way of describing how you could never count Griffin out.

Tonight, at the sold out Mandalay Bay Events Center, Griffin took all the "buts" out of the equation, overturning the odds and pounding out a thrilling unanimous five round decision win over Jackson to win the 205-pound world championship and etch his name in the history books.

It's the curse of the title belt.

ESPN - Griffin didn't do enough to take Jackson's title - MMA

Griffin didn't do enough to take Jackson's title

Many prognosticators could not envision Forrest Griffin leaving the cage with the Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight title belt. But Griffin has made a habit of bucking conventional wisdom, and he did so again Saturday in Las Vegas with a surprising unanimous decision over Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

By all accounts, Griffin was supposed to be a relatively light night's work for Jackson. He wasn't as fast as Jackson, didn't hit nearly as hard and had never been in a UFC title bout.

Before the fight, Jackson had difficulty taking Griffin too seriously as a fighter. The only victory of note on Griffin's r?sum? was a third-round submission in September of Mauricio Rua, whom many considered the best 205-pound fighter in the world at the time.

UFC 86 Fallout: Possible Protest, Rematch

Although Quinton Jackson lost his UFC light heavyweight title Saturday to Forrest Griffin in a grueling 25-minute bout, his camp is ready to keep fighting.

Jackson's coach, Juanito Ibarra, plans to protest the unanimous decision with the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

"We got robbed," Ibarra told Sherdog.com Sunday afternoon. "We won the majority of the fight."
