For all the shit that Hardy talked, he was dominated and didn't really put up much of a fight.

Are you kidding? The dude had nothing for GSP's takedowns, but he's a fuckin' animal. I've never seen anyone not tap from those submissions. Dude's a warrior.

I'm not doubting that, but he did absolutely nothing to counter GSP.

Yeah GSP is that good, but damn

Hardy was tough as nails but one dimensional...he was outclassed from the start.

Mir looked like his lackadaisical old self instead of the guy we've seen over the last few fights...no purpose or pressure

Anyone that thinks GSP or Fitch are "boring" fighters then you just don't understand MMA, they know they can take people down and keep them down and their opponents cannot do a thing about it. That is not boring, its being a very smart fighter.

Carwin vs Lesnar is going to be a very exciting fight. I really hope that the Alves vs Fitch fight still happens in the near future because Alves has good take down defense and is such an explosive athlete that he can get up, off his back when he gets taken down.

Love seeing Carwin get his shot at Brock and they match up well against each other. Can't wait to see it! Next up, Anderson and BJ on the next card! Well... There's a fight night between now and then, but I'm really looking forward to April 10th!

Both aren't simultaneously possible? Yes using wrestling to control your opponent is a good strategy, that doesn't make it exciting for the fans. Don't tell me I don't understand MMA when you apparentley don't understand the meaning of the word boring.

Sometimes it's working toward your strong points... Jon Fitch isn't an overpowering fighter... Against some fighters he can stand up, or fight on the ground.. Tonight he obviously felt he would win if he controlled his opponent on the ground. There's nothing wrong with that, it's actually a brilliant strategy. If your telling me that GSP fight wasn't exciting, you are absolutely nuts. From beginning to end, it was entertaining watching GSP put on a clinic.

Agreed. Dana said during the fight his twitter was blowing up with people bitching about if they wanted to see a wrestling match they would go watch NCAA wrestling, et....shit like that.

I love watching GSP. Dude is a technical beast. I wouldn't give a shit what people thought if I was him either. I'd say "you are tired of me taking people down and working them, then stop me. Stop me from taking you down and I'll stand up."

I'd continue to do exactly what I and my coaches want to win the fight. That is the goal, not to put on a "show" for some casual fans. Sure its fun to watch a bloody war with two guys pounding the shit out of each other. But watching GSP school guys is entertaining to me. You don't want GSP in the main event, have someone beat him.

My comment was more aimed at Fitch. (although GSP can turn on lay n pray mode too) I agree that it's good to play to your strong points, that doesn't mean fans are going to enjoy Fitch putting on a single leg takedown clinic for 15 minutes.

If a fighter is gonna take someone down and do damage to them I'm fine with that and love to watch it, but when all they do is control their opponent and try to score points with the judges it makes me angry. That's not MMA to me, it's a wrestling match, and that's not what the fans are paying they're hard earned money for. It's using boring tactics to take advantage of the scoring system and I think it's bad for MMA.

I don't know if I've ever watched a pure wrestling match...but I'm pretty sure they don't try to rip dudes arms off with submissions and drop elbows upon faces.

I see where you're coming from...and I agree...but the problem isn't with Fitch or GSP, imo. It's with the competition. The cards get shittier and shittier. Put GSP against Penn again, but don't let him cheat this time. He'll probably win, but he'll have to do far more than wrestle.
