As if injuries aren't piling up enough for England, now Gary Cahill is ruled out of Euro after suffering a double fracture of his jaw during yesterdays friendly against Belgium. Liverpool's Martin Kelly has been called up to replace him. That makes three players ruled out for England in the last week with Gareth Barry, Frank Lampard & Gary Cahill all getting injured.

Oof... With all of these injuries piling up, I do honestly believe Sweden has a MUCH better chance of advancing out of the group stage over England.

Micah Richards, Chris Smalling, and Rio Ferdinand sit at home.

The England national football team.

Guess I should have said all of the injuries AND snubs....

Now, I thought I read somewhere that John Terry was either retired from International play or he was going to retire after the Euros. Don't hold me to that, because I'm not positive.

You know I'm down. We can probably get around 8 people to do this as well, just keep bumping this thread so people see it.

Richards has only himself to blame, arrogantly refusing to go on the standby list because if he wasn't in the squad first time around he just wanted to bugger off on holiday with the lads. He's made his bed.

Smalling? Meh. His most notable contribution this season was falling asleep and allowing Kompany to score the winner in the City game.

Ferdinand is done at the top level and England really need to be planning for a future without him. The same can, however, be said for Lampard, Gerrard and that twat John Terry and there's clearly more behind Ferdinand's omission than his age and decline. That the loathsome Terry is in the squad in the first place is staggering given the nature of the charges he is facing and the potential disruption those allegations can cause; he should have been left at home for that alone. Also, as well as being a massive helmet, he's a vastly overrated player, an uncultured oaf of a defender who'd be more at home in the 80s alongside the likes of Butcher.

I find the attitude of the media about all this sadly predictable. They're having a go at Hodgson without having a go at him; instead, they're denigrating and mocking a young reserve full-back whose only crime was to make himself available for selection. It's cowardly and pathetic.

First Post Here: Found this interesting and disturbing (at the same time).

Euro 2012: Holland players subjected to racist abuse at training session

Euro 2012 was plunged into its first racism controversy after the black players in the Holland squad were subjected to monkey chants during an open practice session...
...Several hundred people targeted players such as Nigel de Jong and Gregory van der Wiel when 25,000 spectators attended the Dutch practice session at the Stadion Miejski, the home of Wisla Krakow.

The tournament hasn't even started yet.

But I guess no one should worry. Michel Platini is in charge. The same guy who suggested a Winter World Cup and doesn't think goal-line technology should ever be broached.

Platini also doesn't think Poland/Ukraine has racism problems (judging from this week's press conferences).

Wow. Greek guy just got sent off with his second yellow. Neither call was worthy of being booked, and the first one wasn't really a foul at all. That's some egregious home cookin'.

Greece are getting jobbed. To be fair, they haven't played well at all though.
