Yep. Gotta spread some rep around, but really really appreciating the footie coverage you're bringing, Smudger.

No problem, it's my pleasure. International tournaments and transfer saga's always make this sport something special in the summer months when there's no domestic action.

Pedro named in final Spain squad - ESPN

del Bosque has selected his final 23 man team for Euro. Only six natural defenders on the squad could turn out to be a disaster for La Furia Roja. Very surprised Pedro made the team as he had an inconsistent & injury plagued campaign for Barca this season, but played much better the last few weeks of the season including two goals in the Copa del Rey Final on Friday.

GK's: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Victor Valdes (Barcelona) & Pepe Reina (Liverpool)

DEF: Jordi Alba (Valencia), Raul Albiol, Alvaro Arbeloa, Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Juanfran (Atletico Madrid) & Gerard Pique (Barcelona)

MID: Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona), Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), David Silva (Manchester City), Santi Cazorla (Malaga), Jesus Navas (Sevilla) & Juan Mata (Chelsea) & Javi Martinez (Athletic Bilbao)

FWD: Fernando Llorente (Athletic Bilbao), Fernando Torres (Chelsea), Alvaro Negredo (Sevilla) & Pedro (Barcelona)

Domenico Criscito being left out of the Italy squad due to alleged involvement in match-fixing. :shake:

It's only going to get worse.

http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2012/05/28/juve-manager-conte-investigated-for-match-fixing/

Juventus manager Antonio Conte is among a group of individuals being investigated by police in connection with a match- fixing probe in Italy.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has also confirmed that Lazio captain Stefano Mauri and Genoa midfielder Omar Milanetto have been arrested in connection with the police investigation.

Police also arrived at Italy's training camp ahead of Euro 2012 to question former Genoa and Juventus defender Domenico Criscito, who now plays with Zenit in Russia.

I'm hearing Bonucci may be involved as well.

Former England footballer Sol Campbell has warned fans to stay away from the European Championships because they 'could end up coming back in a coffin'.
The former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur defender fears supporters could be targeted by gangs of violent neo-Nazi racists in host nations Poland and Ukraine.
Campbell, who won 73 caps for England, has insisted UEFA were wrong to award such a prestigious tournament to the two countries.

Why in the hell is there a thread on this European pussy sport at a football site? In my day we gave any kid with a soccer ball an atomic wedgie, called him a fag, and stole his lunch money.

Beano's just mad that his three extra chins shake too much to participate in ANY sport, let alone soccer.

Things just keep getting worse for England. First Gareth Barry, now Frank Lampard is ruled out for Euro after picking up a thigh injury in training yesterday. Phil Jagielka was called up to replace Garry & it looks like Jordan Henderson will be called up to replace Lampard.
