Had a bit of a chuckle while glancing at the Croatia-Italy game online.

Ten years ago, in Korea/Japan, I remember ESPN being on a small delay and Jack Edwards calling "goal" on a John O'Brien shot before he even kicked it.

I also remember seeing the same baseball score over-and-over again (ESPN Bottom Line).

Tommy Smyth?

I thought ESPN had invested in credible personalities for soccer? I gotta believe he's like Milton from Office Space - they stopped cutting him checks, they moved his office to the basement, but he keeps showing up.

Bringing him in for all the EIRE-LAN games.

Although your scenario might not be far off- could be a pesky leprechaun version of Milton.

Torres gets the start for Spain, so once again the are going with no strikers.

Grant Wahl is in country covering the tournament for Sports Illustrated. He forgot to pack pants.

Pants update: I'm on Day 6 of wearing only one pair of pants after I stupidly forgot to pack any additional ones last week. Haven't had the time yet to get any replacements, but my Baldwin dry-selvages are holding up just fine. Good thing, since I probably won't have a chance to buy some decent new ones until we get back to Warsaw next Tuesday. (TMI?)
