Nice going NCAA A kid violates his amateur status but make him sit down for a few games and pay some money and everything is okey-dokey.

The NCAA on Friday reinstated star UCLA freshman forward Shabazz Muhammad and declared him eligible to play immediately for the Bruins men's basketball team after the university "acknowledged amateurism violations" in an appeal to the association.In a statement, the NCAA wrote, "The university required the student-athlete to miss 10 percent of the season (three games) and repay approximately $1,600 in impermissible benefits. The NCAA agreed the actions taken by the university were sufficient. Because Muhammad has already sat out three games, he is now eligible to compete."

Bullshit. I'm no fan of UCLA or Howland, but what this kid did should not require any suspension. It's just another example of the random-number generation that defines "NCAA enforcement."

No need to start another thread but the word on the street is that Howland will be canned but UCLA currently denying it. Shaka Smart is the first name mentioned and interestingly enough Billy Donovan's name is being mentioned also. This will be pretty interesting.
