Game Thread UCF Knights at tOSU - Sat, Sep 8, Noon ESPN2

I think UCF will come to play. As for Akron, they made Joe Bauserman look like John Elway:

early lines OSU -14.5 up to 17
Interesting.

Agree that Akron is crap this year as they were last year, and UCF blowing them out means nothing. But at the same time, us blowing out Miami means about the same.

I've had this tabbed as the most difficult non conference game this season for some time now, not that it says that much this year with our soft non conference schedule. But UCF could easily end up with 8 or 9 wins this year, and this is a much better test for our defense as they are much better at the skill positions and up front offensively than Miami is.

I am really high on our team this year, and I think we will likely shut down their run game and force quite a few turnovers, while still being able to put up 40+ points. If they do accomplish this, then I think it could be a good prediction of what may come later in the season.

I think we win 45-10. And I believe this will be the closest score and game until we go to East Lansing.

UCF's Latavius Murray may miss Ohio State game due to shoulder injury

UCF may face off against powerhouse Ohio State without its top running back in the lineup.

UCF coach George O?Leary said senior running back Latavius Murray is ?week-to-week? after suffering a shoulder injury during the Knights? blowout 56-14 win at Akron Thursday. He declined to disclose whether Murray suffered a shoulder bruise or strain, but O?Leary did say ?it?s nothing that has to be operated on.?

?Right now, he?s week-to-week as far as whether he?s in the game plan,? O?Leary said. ?We?ll see what he looks like this week, but I wouldn?t count -- we?ll see where he?s at.?

What sort of offense do they run do you know Jxc? If its more prostyle I don't see them having very many explosive plays. I think they're obviously better than Miami but I doubt that Bortles is as good as the QB we just faced. Either way I'd assume we will see more base defense in this game which I think benefits us.

I really feel bad for UCF. I'm not joking here. This just might be the worst week to have tOSU on your schedule. It's often said that a team will make the most improvement between weeks 1 and 2. If this is the case..this game will be over by half time. Unfortunately for UCF, UFM won't call off the hounds. UFM doesn't much care about the feelings of the other team.

I've just watched the Miami game for the third time. I'm not saying Miami is some kind of measuring stick or anything. Just consider for a moment that we scored 56 points. We had a couple of sacks. A couple of picks. Hell we even scored a TD on special teams. Miami rushed for negative yards, and for crying out loud Brax set a Buckeye QB rushing record.

Now consider that none of that was good enough. It wasn't good enough for anybody on that team. The kid from Miami was the only thing stopping us from getting 6,7 maybe 8 sacks and scoring 70 points. So many times our d-line was after him untouched or with just one move. His release was just so quick it negated the pressure. It really frustrated Simon and you could see it in his face.

I'm pretty sure UFM wasn't happy either. The first quarter irked him. Not scoring before the half really irked him. Hyde not getting 100 yards irked him. Braxton not throwing as well as he has in practice irked him.

I'm not saying that UCF won't give a valiant effort, I just think this Buckeye team will come out meaner than hell this week. 65-13 Buckeyes.

UCF football may still face 2012 postseason ban thanks to expedited appeal

The UCF football team may not be eligible to play for a Conference USA championship or appear in a bowl game during the 2012 season after all.
UCF President John Hitt said Tuesday in an exclusive interview with the Orlando Sentinel the school is asking the NCAA to quickly review its appeal of a postseason football ban with the hope the Knights would get an answer before the end of this season.

Just sayin': UCF may be an "angry" team too.

:tongue2:
