Yeah, well, we’ll always have Old Rough and Ready.

For as bad as the missed finish was, and its fair to argue it cost us the game, I actually think Altidore was the focal point of the first 35 min when we were in control. His hold up play was all we could do to effectively get the ball forward, he was fighting hard to hold his position and win most of them, and he had a few nice passes out of it as well. Not putting the ball on frame there is for sure terrible, but I think he was probably our best player when we were most dangerous despite that.

I would greatly appreciate it if Michael Bradley never suited up for the USMNT again. His pace and ability to make quick, smart passes just isn’t there anymore. I suggested prior to the final that maybe Trapp was the much better option, but I’m not paid handsomely to make those decisions, so what do I know.

but then who would try to dribble through defenders?

Exactly.

I think my major issue right now is there are 2 problems. One is a lack of leadership on the field (and that's why Bradley is playing) and we'll, we straight don't have enough dudes right now.

Now maybe it's partly that through this mini cycle we've found out who we don't want out there. Like what in the fuck is Daniel Lovitz doing in the same area code, nevermind the same state as the mnt.

But to me, I'm sitting here thinking we have ok center backs (plus some guys that didn't play if you don't totally love the guys out there). You've got pulisic at AM. McKennie at least looks like he can grow into the role with some uneven play acknowledged. Steffen is the goalie. Cool. Then what? I really don't mind Altidore or zardes up top, Altidore was fine agreeing with BengalsandBucks. Obviously we'd like to see Josh Sargent sooner than later.

Boyd and Roldan look like super subs. But I don't love any of the wings. Arriola was mostly admirable but... Is that our dude on that wing? I don't even want to talk about Tim Ream.

That's all before we get to who plays the 6. I dunno.

I was reading something else last night (forget where) that was a pretty good ripoff of your post, too.

And ESPN dude does about exactly what I didn't want to do which is dive right into, what about Chris Gloster, Antonee Robinson, Duane Holmes, etc... who I believe have zero premier/bundesliga appearances between them.
