U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

I just saw a lineup prediction that had Wondo and Beckerman in. *sigh*

I like Wondo....I really do. I just don't see the value in throwing bench players who are benched because they are limited out there vs bench players who are benched because they haven't reached their full potential yet. You know what Wondo is. Let's use this to give Nagbe or Pulisic some experience against some of the best in the world. Build for the WC. I'm not saying tank this game/tournament and start all the young guys......but with the hand that has been dealt, utilize it to make the team better going forward.
I hope that prediction was from a source that has no info or insight on what is going to come. I would prefer we start on the front foot and then sub into a defensive shell, rather than concede the middle of the field and hope we can bunker in and keep the ball out of the net.

I have no issue with Beckerman in, but Wondo is more of a right place guy, not a disruptive force that will keep their back line honest. One or the other..but both sounds like we are betting on getting to PKs. I know they ended up wrecking Venezula..but when Ven. was on the front foot they created a lot of really good opportunities. Any of those break for a goal and it would have been a much different game. I think we have enough quality to produce a few chances if we press....but if that predicted line up is correct...we are retreating. That said, I don't know what options we have without Wood. Just goes to show his quality and importance to the squad. It would appear that we don't have the depth we need to replace him and stay aggressive.

I think it was a prediction based more on what JK has done in the past.

I'm also seeing claims to the following line up:

Guzan, Yedlin, Cameron, Brooks, Johnson; Zusi, Beckerman, Bradley; Pulisic, Dempsey, Zardes

Nagbe would clearly be the first off the bench in that scenario. If I'm Klinsmann I would be quick on that button if we can't get some semblance of control in the middle of the field.

That's easily one of the best lineups I've seen for the USMNT. I dig it. Now shock the world.
