U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

Watched most of the second half, everyone played well, but there is still room for improvement and better play. Fierce defending and keeping - I agree about some of the putrid announcing. If you get nine offsides, it means the other team's defense is playing well.

The team can only improve with MORE international play... TOP international play that is.

I keep reading and hearing people talk about Michael Bradley being left out of the squad for some of Klinsmann's initial matches as some sort of undeserved punishment for being his father's son. Apparently people forgot that he had been playing like ass around that time. I was harsh on him then, but it looks like his form has returned. I'm happy for that - he was terrific in South Africa and one of my favorite players in that World Cup.

Been avoiding this thread and bpSpy all afternoon and evening. I just finished watching, and was on the edge of my seat from half way through the first half. Incredible win!!

I love having Johnson at LB, and Spector didn't look too bad either. I hope those guys are the answer at LB, because Chandler, and, hopefully, Lichaj are the future at RB. Kljestan is still bad, and I'm really not sure why he keeps making the squad. Bradley played well, but he's no Landon Donovan with the free kicks. I'm hoping that Holden can get back healthy and in-form soon and we'll have a very nice setup everywhere except maybe quality depth at center back.

No, especially considering it was the U-23 team that lost. What is everybody's opinion of Terrance Boyd? He looked very dangerous last night, scoring two very good goals.
Still some greeeat talent in the youth ranks, which is what really makes this all the more disappointing. Wish the guys would have gotten a summer's more worth of competitive footie.

Shea, Boyd, Corona, Diskerud, Hamid, Gatt, Adu. Obviously Agudelo, too. That injury hurt.

Still, too much talent to not advanced out of the group and compete for the Olympics, not sure what happened this week. On to some more tune-ups and then some World Cup Qualifying with the Senior team, though. I'm still excited about the outlook.
