U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

I wasn't talking about that, I meant the other two after that one trying to get another call on Jones to bring out a red. I should add they thankfully weren't called and the side judge told him to get up and play on after each one, so unless you were watching him on the passes you probably didn't see them.

And crises averted, ball went off the post!

Gotcha. I must have missed that one. I'm trying to multitask between this and the Reds game.

This US squad looks like they are ready to make noise. Just finished watching the first half, and here are my thoughts:

1st goal: Eh, can't complain. Although his arm wasn't extended, it was still folded upward and did block the ball.. Good call by the ref.

2nd Brazil goal: Where you at Bocanegra? I know TS33 (TS3 for today ) is best CB in the world, but you gotta defend him on set pieces! He left him wide open.

1st US Goal: We've got a real nice player in Fabian Johnson. Does a good job of moving up the pitch and getting crosses in, and plays well in defense too. And what can I say about Gomez. He's on top form right now. To not use him against Brazil would have been a crime.

US looked like the aggressors toward the end of the half... Finishing strong, I like it.

EDIT: Just watched Brazil's third goal. Marcelo doing a fantastic job of moving up the pitch. US need to get the ball away from them when Marcelo is that far up the pitch, and make them pay in counter-attack.

Also really impressed by Danilo, he looks like he's on the rise to super-stardom. Although, I like him playing at CM/CDM.
