So....

What exactly are we going to do for a 9?

Remember when I did that thing where I asked @TooTall about pulisic at the 10? Well that was with no Gio available. Well what about gio at the 10 and pulisic as a false (ish) 9?

Pepi hasn't scored anywhere since last fall. Dike not much better....Hoppe, Soto, blah blah blah. If we are back to Sargent and/or Zardes as high work rate.... Whatever it is they do, some folks are going to shit.

We may not be super deep but there are pretty obviously it will be just fine guys at all the other spots. But the 2 most important attacking positions don't have regular starters.

Maybe its time to fill them with the most talented dudes? I don't know.

I’m not opposed to seeing that. Gets your most talented guys on the pitch at the same time. It’s kind of insane how difficult it’s been to find someone consistent enough to hold down the starting ST position.

I suppose had the Pulisic false 9 mini experiment at Chelsea had gone better, this might be less crazy talk. But I sorta feel like 8 months out, but with really not much euro club season left, perhaps contingency plans must be made.

Gio out indefinitely with muscle and tendon injury. This one is not good and Dortmund is starting to question if the injuries are his own fault by not fully healing before going back onto the pitch and reinjuring again. Either way, he'll be hard pressed to be fit for the fall when WC camp gets going full speed. Damn

I hope no one is getting tired of hearing about Aaronson because he's not slowing down whatsoever. He could be the hottest scorer on the USMNT right now and Berhalter is going to have to make decisions coming up. The Defensive injuries suck bad and that gets me thinking maybe we need to add all of our best offensive players to make up for whats lacking on D. Maybe it's not as bad as it looks but I'd be tempted to put out a lineup that is full attack mode.

Could also be the Liverpool supporter in me wanting the attack though.

Is it possible to leave CONCACAF for CONMEBOL? These shitty third-world pitches aren't going to help grow our program.

Play Brazil and Argentina, not El Salvador and Panama. This match looks like a joke.

I say we go Big XII and send Canada, Mexico, and USA to CONMEBOL. Let Central America be like Oceana and let them play a playoff for one bid.
