U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

They only will if they allow Costa Rica to win 6-0, and the US is forced into the continental playoff. They do not carry over into the WC.
Thought I read today that YC's wont carry over unless it's the play in as you mentioned but a RC would follow to the WC. Obviously we dont want any cards or play-ins and no injuries. Yeah, let's just do that.

15 Yellow and red cards
1. Single yellow cards and pending suspensions as a consequence of cautions received in different matches in the preliminary competition of the FIFA World Cup 2022™ are not carried over to the final competition. Pending match suspensions imposed as a result of a direct or an indirect red card in matches in the preliminary competition of the FIFA World Cup 2022™ are carried over to the final competition.
2. If a player receives two cautions in two different matches, he will be automatically suspended from his team’s subsequent match. General provisions 22
3. If a player is sent off as a result of a direct or an indirect red card, he will be automatically suspended from his team’s subsequent match. In addition, further sanctions may be imposed in the case of a direct red card.
4. Any suspension that cannot be served during this competition will be carried over to the representative team’s next official match.

I was curious so here is what they say for others that are also.

You might be right about red cards. I just know yellow cards don’t carry over to WC. But I would be shocked if someone got a red card with how these CONCACAF referees have called games. It would take a seriously malicious challenge to draw a red. Even a player sitting on a yellow, they’ve seemed to really let them play without even warning them about foul accumulation.

Yes but

Anything can happen if they decide so.

(I think US wins this 1-0)
