U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

The correct characterization of this scoreline is that it flatters to deceive.

I'm not really in the camp that thinks that things are somehow "better" if they advance. I think a change needs to be made whether they make the hex or not.

Better lineup, better result. Still not in the fire Jurgen camp..

My one complaint, why in the hell was Zusi not in the 23 man before Sunday/Monday? He's killing it in the midfield, and is IMO the most talented central box-to-box mid.

3-0

Which would help... What?

Let the results determine klinsmanns fate. He's been playing the long game on the cycle the whole time. Pays off or it doesn't. If they don't make it, fine, fire him.

Rescrambling the personnel now might help qualify them... That's it.

I also think Guzan needs to stay in goal for US. Tim Howard was phenomenal for the national team for a riduculously long time, but his age and the fact that he's jumped down from playing for the likes of Everton to playing in the MLS are clearly showing.

The view needs to be longer for good or bad.

I don't think my opinion is inconsistent with the long view. I see making the World Cup right now a bit like the importance of a young college football team making it to a bowl game. The training and experience that takes place as a result is extremely valuable to the advancement of the program. I'm not convinced that Klinsmann is going to make that happen.
