I disagree completely. For my money this is instantly the best American commentator duo I've heard. They pretty well match the conversational/narrative cadence of typical British commentators without forcing the jargon or sounding like mimics. Most American commentators seem to use the same cadence or tone that one would use to announce an NFL or NBA game describing "plays" in short bursts. This sport is more fluid than that.

the officiating in this women's WC game against Colombia is a fucking joke. between Colombia diving and getting rewarded for it, and the typical American announcers who just shit all over any US team that isn't winning by 5 goals...this is almost unwatchable.

This team has no midfield and insists on playing like Stoke despite having huge talent and skill advantages. They deserve to get roasted for it.

That said, acting like this is shocking is a bothersome bit of pandering to casual fans. These problems have been a hallmark of Ellis's team.
