Wow - it's on ESPN News. Speculating that they're going after Urban Meyer before Florida can lock him up.

Also speculating about Ty W. going back to Stanford, or to Washington, but they're just guessing.

Yeah, but the big thing here is, doesn't Meyer have an out-clause in his contract if the Notre Dame job became open? (I thought it was tOSU, ND, and scUM). Utah could possibly (if they wanted to) not let Meyer out of his contract for the UF job, or at least UF would have to pony up a nice chunk of a buyout.

EDIT: someone feel free to correct me if I'm off base on how the whole contract thing works.

Florida sucked before Spurrier and used to be able to count on more of the in state talent every year than they can now. Besides, Gainesville bites ass.

On the other hand, South Bend ain't a day at the beach and ND certainly can't count on its talent pipeline anymore.

QED - Forget them both, I have a source at the White House who says that Dubya is confident that Urban will be the next coach at Texas.

He's allowed to sub one of the 3 schools for any other school 1 time. i.e. since OSU won't open up any time soon, he can drop them and change it to Florida. I'm looking for Davis to go to Florida and Meyer to go to ND.

bidding war between florida and ND for him? I think he'd be crazy to turn down Florida with the talent they have.
I think he'd be crazy to turn down Notre Dame for Florida if he's given the opportunity. I may be in the minority, but I don't think Notre Dame has a problem getting talent.
