The 6-foot-2, 257-pound Danna is a talented defensive end that was coveted by Pro Football Focus last season. According to PFF's 101 best players of 2018 list, Danna finished the year at No. 69 and received high praise, finishing with a 91.3 grade to end the year.

"Downright dominant in his 12 games of action this year, Danna recorded 55 total QB pressures and made 42 defensive stops this year, joining forces with just six other edge defenders as the only ones to record at least 55 pressures and at least 40 defensive stops in 2018," PFF wrote.

On top of that honor, PFF also named him a first-team All-America selection on defense. Including him with the likes of likely first-round selections Josh Allen, Quinnen Williams and Christian Wilkins.

The same PFF that said Shea Patterson was a better QB than Haskins last year?

They’re really still supporting the annual vacation (Sarcasm). As someone who recently became a father I think it’s a great life experience for the student athletes (admittedly) but it’s also a bad precedent to set when other student athletes don’t get the same treatment even at their own university. It’s definitely organized more as a publicity stunt / recruiting tactic as evidenced by the media members that travel and report on the trips. This stinks to high hell of an entitlement for a program given so much but truly earning so little.

As an alumnus and tOSU fan for life, I’m estatic that tOSU focuses on conditioning during the offseason and leaves the gimmicks to the guys hanging a banner for a once in a decade co-championship where they lost to their rival by 4 scores!

From the Idaho Statesman:

Jim Harbaugh is taking Michigan's football team to South Africa in May.

Director of football operations Mark Taurisani tweeted about the trip Tuesday.

Like last year's visit to France , the Wolverines will not practice in South Africa. Harbaugh did have practices in Italy in 2017.

Michigan alumni Bobby Kotick and Don Graham funded last year's trip, and Kotick paid for the visit to Italy. Harbaugh has said Kotick will pay for the tours as long as the coach wants to do them. Harbaugh has mentioned Greece, Spain and Cuba as possible destinations for the annual opportunities for his players to learn and bond.

They aren't allowed to practice on these road trips anymore:

NCAA passes 'Harbaugh rule' banning spring break practice trips
Jan. 20, 2017
Though it won’t officially be called the “Jim Harbaugh Rule,” the NCAA’s five power conferences passed a measure Friday ending trips like the one he took over spring break with the Michigan football team at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., last March.

As part of a package of new rules designed to create more off time for college athletes, the new rule prohibiting off-campus practice during a vacation period outside of a playing season passed 58-20 after a vigorous debate with a majority in all five conferences, though the athlete representatives voted against it 11-4.

It begs the question: Why isn't this a NCAA violation? The infamous "$100 handshakes" and/or "free use of a car" from a booster are illegal; but the booster can give players a (approx.) $5K all expense paid trip to a foriegn country over spring break.

I, for one, fully support these little side endeavors. They've surely contributed to such splendid results on the field.

You know Harbaugh uses these trips as a main point of emphasis in recruiting... so he attracts guys who have “vacations” at or near the top of things they’re looking for in their college football experience.
