Michigan running back Chris Evans no longer with Wolverines program 'at this time'

Evans was the Wolverines' primary backup in 2018

Michigan running back Chris Evans, the top contender to be the starting running back on the depth chart in 2019, is not with the program at this time, the Detroit News confirmed Tuesday. Evans finished second on the Wolverines in rushing in 2018 with 423 yards and four rushing touchdowns.

"Chris Evans is not a member of the football team at this time," a Michigan spokesman confirmed to the outlet. "Privacy laws prohibit us from commenting further."

Pep Hamilton potentially leaving? :shake:

Pep Hamilton reportedly the odd man out on Michigan staff

Eleven men. Ten spots. Someone had to go.

Jim Harbaugh re-tooled his offensive staff from 2018 to 2019 by bringing in Josh Gattis as offensive coordinator — Michigan didn’t have one of those a year ago — and promoting Ben McDaniels (brother of Josh) from an offensive analyst role to the full-time, on-the-field staff. McDaniels’ role was not specified at the time of his late December promotion but now, on the eve of Signing Day, it’s clear what he’ll coach: quarterbacks.

And that means Pep Hamilton is out.

Hamilton will not return to the staff, according to multiple reports on Tuesday. Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider first reported the news.

Hopefully he's a better coach than he was a QB.
