Another day, another academic circle-jerk on mgoblow

https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/harbaugh's-emphasis-academics

I love the one who, when presented with the fact that Ohio State had one more selection says that UM football players have to compete against UM students. Average freshman ACT this Fall. Ohio State-30; UM 31.5. That's hardly some fundamental gap between the two student bodies.

Let them have their academic circle jerk though because I have a feeling that next November will be Ryan Day's masterpiece that will make us forget the last two beatdowns.

Wow.
How does this stack up against the schools we make fun of for poor academics?
Translation: Can we still use our made up bullshit to make us feel better about our shitty football team? :scared:
Not sure, but most comparisons won't exactly be apples-to-apples. Getting above a 3.0 at UM is a bit more difficult than the schools we make fun of.
:roll1: puke

Mike Sainristil was one of the talks of the off-season when he enrolled early and got comfortable in Josh Gattis’ offense, but he had a mostly quiet true freshman season.

He came to life toward the end of the year, though, catching six passes for 129 yards and a touchdown in the second half of the season.
avg 1 catch, 20 yards and .16666 TDs per game = "coming to life"

And by the way, shouldn't it be easier for tsun's football players to compete since they're coming in with Ivy League ACT scores that are higher than their regular students (average at the upper Ivies, Chicago, Stanford and the Techs =34, at the lower Ivies, Northwestern, Duke etc around 33) whereas our football players--as we disclosed--are coming in with a 23 average....a full 7 points lower than our average freshman.

Oh, and interdastingly enough, it would seem that the tsun average is closer to us than it is to the Ivies.

Let's see how the next month plays out - how many players enter the transfer portal, sit out the bowl game, declare early for the NFL, or otherwise quit on their team.
I'm going to keep a running total on this ... updated for Tarik Black.

1. LB Josh Uche (early entry) (12/04/2019)
2. LB Jordan Anthony (transfer) (12/04/2019)
3. WR Tarik Black (transfer) (12/13/2019)

But their classes are SO hard! And they actually have to attend them in person!
