Everybody is just fine. The fans want to quit the sport or stand pat.The administration is cool with it as if they’ve reached their ceiling. The players want to transfer.

This pleases me.

Their thinking is flawed. They think they can’t get anyone better than Harbaugh. The flaw is they still have Harbaugh at the top of some imaginary mountain. He was a fucking mirage and those idiots still don’t know it. There are TONS of better coaches out there but they don’t see it. And the only way to never find the right guy, is by staying out with the wrong one. It’s glorious!

Those Richrod and Hoke flashbacks are really f-in scary....

And to think... they could have had the purple skinned killer now at ND. but that magnificent son of a bitch would have none of it and hired RR instead.

Almost coming back to beat Penn State during year five of Harbaugh’s coaching tenure is enough to hit the reset button on the panic meter. And it’s not pathetic at all!

Kelly couldn’t do that. Nobody can! Because who out there is better than Harbaugh? Who has it better?

"...coaching hires are usually a crap shoot."

Perhaps for some schools they are. We've seemed to pretty much hit home runs on everyone one of our hires lately and is a big reason why Gene Smith should get a lot more credit than he does.

Not counting Fickell four of the last five Ohio State head coaches are Hall of Fame coaches and Urban Meyer is a lock to make it five for five. I'd say the history of home runs hiring head coaches extends back a long time at Ohio State.

Yeah, when it comes with history like this we're not exactly going to be offended:

He’s a local maxima but they have such great fear that any change may push them to another local or global minima that they are like deer in headlights.

God is good.

No interviews.

Respect my decision.

There were multiple folks around here who said that the hiring of RR would set the program back five years. RR, Hoke and now Hairball and here we are.

He’s right. Elite coaches don’t grow on trees. I think they should stay the course. Heaven knows how much worse it could get. Finishing third in the division is a good place to be.

Obviously not familiar with the OSU Coaching Tree.

Now lets take a look at their 2018 class...

DE- Aidan Hutchinson - Legacy recruit was their highest ranked commit at #112 nationally (per 247). Played in 7 games as a frosh with 12 tackles and 1 tfl. Has been solid this year recording 37 tackles, 6 tfl and 1.5 sacks over 7 games. Looks like a solid, if not spectacular player.
LB- Cam McGrone - Took a redshirt in 2018, has recorded 30 tackles, 6 tfl and 2.5 sacks in 5 games so far this season. Their best LB, by far.
TE- Mustapha Muhammad - Never saw the field and is now in THE PORTAL.
CB- Myles Sims - Never saw the field, transferred to Georgia Tech where he has 5 tackles in 5 games as a backup CB.
QB- Joe Milton - QB savior v34? The DFBIA seems to think he's Cardale Jones v2.0 because, you know, he's a big black kid with a strong arm. Disregard that he has nowhere near the talent, or coaching around him that Jones had. Has completed 6-11 passes for 117 yards, 1 td, 2 int and run 12 times for 47 yards and 2 td in 7 games.
OT- Jalen Mayfield - Starting RT after taking a redshirt in 2018. Has been spotty, at best.
OT- Ryan Hayes - Redshirted in 2018, became a default starter when Runyan was hurt. Did not play very well, is now a backup.
CB- Gemon Green - Has logged 1 tackle in 1 game.
RB- Christian Turner - 20 carries for 95 yards as a frosh in 3 games, 37-146 (3.9 ypc) in 6 games this year. Is apparently a major liability in passing downs because he can't block at all.
DE- Taylor Upshaw - Has not seen the field.
CB- Sammy Faustin - Has not seen the field.
FB- Ben VanSumeren - Has carried 8 times for 18 yards and a td in 3 games. "Manball" back, seems like he'd be obsolete in the "speed in space" era. But, you know...harbrau.
DE- Julius Welschof - German kid has not seen the field.
CB- Vincent Gray - Backup CB has totalled 14 tackles and 3 passes defended in 4 games.
ATH- Michael Barrett - "Thicc Curtis Samuel" , doesn't seem to really have a position. Has logged 5 tackles in 3 games and completed a pass (?) for 25 yards against Army.
TE- Luke Schoonmaker - Has caught 2 passes for 54 yards and a td in 2 games.
RB- Hassan Haskins - In 6 games, has run 39 times for 217 yards and a td. 12-125 (10.4 ypc) of that against the woeful Illini defense, 27-92 (3.4 ypc) against everyone else.
S- German Green - Like his twin brother, Gemon, has 1 tackle in 1 game.
WR- Ronnie Bell - Something of a "diamond in the rough" for them, he's been their most consistent receiver, totalling 32 catches for 577 yards and 2 td in 14 career games, so far. Dropped a potential game-tying TD in the waning moments against the pedtards.
K - Jake Moody - Has converted 15-18 field goals and 14-14 PATs in 9 games.

I'd say Hutchinson, Bell and McGrone are hits so far. Mayfield could develop into a decent OT. They tend to get use out of tall TEs, so maybe Schoonmaker becomes something down the road. Haskins may be a contributor in the run game, but take away a big performance against Illinois, and he's at 3.4 ypc. Maybe Moody is a servicable kicker. That's maybe 6 or 7 out of 20 players from that class. The rest look like detritus or PORTAL candidates in the future.

I’d just like to add that these tackles who they are instantly dependent on in their second year (and were the 6th and 7th highest ranked players in the class) were composite ranked #268 and #335 in the class.

Meanwhile, Thayer Munford, who feels like a really under-the-radar pleasant surprise at OSU, was #285.

I’d also point out our extreme familiarity with Ed Warriner and his track record of under-rated OTs.

2013
Evan Lisle #75
Timothy Gardner #652

2014
Jamarco Jones #59
Kyle Trout #265
Brady Taylor #584

2015
Isaiah Prince #101
Grant Schmidt #469
Kevin Feder #507
Branden Bowen #543
Joshua Alabi #555 (SDE)

2016
Michael Jordan #130
Gavin Cupp #413

So of the guys he recruited, Jones and Prince held down LT and RT for most of his tenure and were two of his highest rated recruits.

He turned Jordan and Bowen into serviceable guards, with Bowen and Alabi emerging at tackle after he left.

Everyone else on this list being almost a total bust.

So, have fun with your offensive tackles, Michigan, as your boy tries to target and develop mid-range guys with no help from the Urban Meyer recruiting machine.

I’m sure it’ll go great.
