It is amazing how much respect Bacon gets for pushing out the same lovefest material that every other fan writer does. I mean, I get it...there is a place for these fan books because the faithful from every university eats it up. But Bacon gets national recognition even though his stuff is on par with Tim Prister's gem "The New Gold Standard: Charlie Weis and Notre Dame's Rise to Glory". He's just like that...

In one of those Ottoman Empire moments, it's incorrect to say Michigan played Case Western.
3 of their all-time wins come from Western Reserve. And 26 come from Case IT.
I dont think they ever played Case Western.

They also have a 6-12 record against Cornell. And 0-1 against the infamous Cleveland Athletic Club after an 8-4 away game on Nov 28 1891, a Saturday.
I guess they never rescheduled after that embarassment... a few places say there were 5000 in attendance (the biggest crowd at any of their games that year).
They started the season against Ann Arbor High School.

128 years later, Harbaugh thinks this was a brilliant recruiting lever.
If only you could end the 62-0* ass beating by offering their parents jobs... but not in the city, that would be unethical.

*ive never found a good explanation about scoring methods way back before the forward pass. 8-4 and 62-0 in same season.

First of all, fuck Michigan.

You have to go all the way back to 1906 for the last time Michigan held the lead in the series date-to-now. Since 1907 the series is 51-51, and any date from 1907 onward until now results in a net series lead for Ohio State. Starting with Ohio State's first-ever win against Michigan in 1919, Ohio State leads the series 51-45-4.

Fuck Michigan.
