And the companion argument, "we make 3 stars into 5 stars".

because, Tom Brady....that's the one that kills me.

They have somehow morphed their inability to develop one of the GOAT NFL QB's into anything better than a 6th round pick into proof positive that 3 stars are better than 5 stars and all is well/Mob Move etc etc

DFBIA gonna DFBIA I guess

Yep. And the only similarities between then and now are the uniforms and mutant families in that state. Nothing else.

ahh the 'ol "hungry 3 star" argument
As if blue chip prospects are never hungry and never develop in college. Cases in point....

Nick Bosa: #8 overall recruit; #2 overall draft pick
Joey Bosa: #37 overall recruit; #3 overall draft pick
Ezekiel Elliott: #69 overall recruit; #4 overall draft pick
Eli Apple: #52 overall recruit; #10 overall draft pick
Marshon Lattimore: #55 overall recruit; #11 overall draft pick
Dwayne Haskins: #91 overall recruit; #15 overall draft pick

And Ohio State has done a fine job of developing 3-star recruits into top-50 draft picks. A lot better than scUM, as a matter of fact:

Denzel Ward: #4 overall draft pick
AJ Hawk: #5 overall draft pick
Malcolm Jenkins: #14 overall draft pick
Malik Hooker: #15 overall draft pick
Darron Lee: #20 overall draft pick
Gareon Conley: #24 overall draft pick
Santonio Holmes: #25 overall draft pick
Nick Mangold: #29 overall draft pick
Bradley Roby: #31 overall draft pick
James Laurinaitis: #35 overall draft pick
Brian Robiskie: #36 overall draft pick
Devin Smith: #37 overall draft pick
Michael Thomas: #47 overall draft pick
Johnathon Hankins: #49 overall draft pick

The real question is this: even after they've quit the sport, will they still brag about the most all-time wins and Tom Freakin Brady?

I think this is what they will do. Once the Buckeyes are one win away from matching those assholes in all-time wins, they will quit the sport. This allows them to use the "But we quit and would still have the most wins, but we left to allow you guys to take it. Who cares about football anyways. I'm a giant bag of douche" argument. Genius if you ask me.
