:slappy:

These fuckers are so distraught, they want to leave a conference division game. Like it’s possible!

“We need to get out of playing a team in our division. Then we’ll be amazing! While we’re at it, let’s get out of the B1G CCG and playoffs. Then we’ll be national champs in no time.”

Luckily. They are gonna get their way as far as getting out of the CCG. They found their way out. Again.

Still hard.

Pure gold from a Michigan fan who gets it....

https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/steve-deace-reckoning

Another two goodies.

It’s a Brand, not a Rivalry

Michigan-Ohio State is not a rivalry to anyone under the age of 35. It’s simply not a competitive series, and the Wolverines haven’t beaten an Ohio State team with something to play for in 15 years. Prospects signing LOIs next month have seen Purdue beat Michigan more than Michigan defeat Ohio State in their lifetimes. Who in the world calls that a rivalry on the merits?

To everyone else, it’s a brand and an overblown one at that. It’s like the DCU compared to the MCU. While Superman and Batman are superior brands, few believe they’re better movies than Ant-Man.

For Michigan to win championships again, one of two things will have to happen:

Urban Meyer retires.

Michigan must modernize its offense while playing a realistic defense.

Until one of those two things occur, this is a 9-10 win program under Harbaugh. Very good, yes, but not elite.

That’s why tiny Northwestern will play in the Big Ten Championship Game before we do.

They don’t have to go through Urban Meyer every year. We do.

Go back to 2010. Next year will be the first year of the Big Ten championship game. Xichigan isn't good, but they're getting better. And they just fired Rich Rod. Even with Xichigan being who they were in 2010, who honestly would have believed that Northwestern would get to the Big Ten championship game before Xichigan will? Not me.

Northwestern will be the 7th team to make it to the BTCG, joining Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, Iowa, and Nebraska.
Teams to not make it to a championship game, yet: Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Maryland, Rutgers, and... Xichigan.

I was going to comment on his desperation to abandon the rivalry.
Sorry, Deace... I lived through the Cooper years. The hatred is real and you just experienced the fact that it is a living rivalry. Your revenge tour trash-talking team just wasn't ready for it.

My college buddies from places like Hilliard, Bellbrook, Milford, and Cambridge that all root for TTUN kept asking me why I care about the game so much. They claimed it wasn't any different than any other game. However, the 2011 game brought them out of their caves to scream about how much winning The Game means to TTUN.

And...now they are back to asking why this game is any different and that PSU is more of a rivalry for the Buckeyes than TTUN. Hahahahahahaha

Fuck 'em!

One of the biggies in terms of difference between the fanbases.

When they had the better of it they wen't with the dismissive, elitist "it's not a rivalry anymore" approach. From a fan intensity perspective, they took their collective eye off the ball.

OSU fanbase gets the better of it and the hate just keeps burning hotter. We (mostly) understand this at an instinctive level; never take the foot off the throat once evil has been subjugated.
