Michigan has lost its top-rated 2018 commit to Alabama. Offensive lineman Emil Ekiyor Jr. of Indianapolis Cathedral High School announced Sunday via Twitter that he has changed his mind about signing with the Wolverines and instead is committing to the Crimson Tide.

Re: Michigan coaches had a question for Emil Ekiyor after the offensive lineman from Indianapolis Cathedral High School announced last October his commitment to be a part of U-M’s 2018 recruiting class.
“They asked me if there were any guys in Indy that they should look out for,” Ekiyor said.
Ekiyor immediately had a name for them.
Cameron McGrone of Lawrence Central.
The two highest-rated players in the state of Indiana, according to the 247Sports composite system, and U.S. Army All-American invitees are committed to becoming Wolverines next season. It’s not a coincidence. They grew up in the same township, first meeting in youth football. Although they’ve never been on the same team, Ekiyor and McGrone are close friends who helped each other in the recruiting process.

The next question is: Does his good friend Cameron McGrone who is committed to scUM have an offer from Alabama?

Lock for the Jabrill Peppers Big10 Media DPOY.

The dickrod/barwis hysteria from about Dec '07 through Aug '08 was the apex of their stupidity. They KNEW that dickrod's offense was going to kick open the gates of hell on the B1G. They KNEW 5* players were gonna fall at his feet to play in his offensive system at a school like scum. They KNEW they were gonna DOMINATE Tressel/tOSU because tOSU couldn't defend spread teams (a popular, yet false, narrative at the time). They KNEW national titles were imminent. They laughed off assertions that dickrod ignored defense. They laughed off the idea that dickrod's teams were soft and puckered up in big moments, despite his #2 wvu squad losing to a massive underdog, lousy Pitt team AT HOME with a shot at the NCG on the line just days before his hire. Go back and read Dickrod's thread after he was hired, no less than twenty posters here called everything that was going to happen up there almost to a got damn tee.

The meltdowns they provided us with over the next three seasons were some of the greatest moments I've ever experienced on a message board. Just phenomenal.

One of the ironies is that it was Michigan who sabotaged DickRod's defense. Refusing to let him bring in Casteel** to run 335 may or may not have been a good idea... but hiring 43 guys and forcing them to attempt 335 anyway was Pure Michigan clusterfuck. I don't think 335 would've worked in Big10 under Casteel either... but probably would have worked better than the confused mess they ended up with.

A decent article on Casteel's defense.

J.T. Barrett has more TDs than Michigan, and it’s not that close

BarrettTDmich_ri17wn.jpg

Ohio State's J.T. Barrett has outscored Michigan in terms of touchdowns accounted for this season.

This, without a doubt, is one of those statistics that Wolverines fans probably can’t stand seeing.

Not only has Michigan only scored 24 touchdowns in eight games, but the Buckeyes’ captain has accounted for six more all by himself. Ohio State — and Barrett in particular — has been on fire for the majority of the season.

Michigan? Well, not so much.
