ttun Shenanigans and Arguments (2015 official thread)

Yes... punting on the class of 2015 is top notch strategy. I mean, I'm not @LordJeffBuck when it comes to these issues, but surely missing a class or two doesn't hurt you and makes you better over the long haul. Besides, if The Harbrau™ wants to do it, it's probably the right thing to do. I mean.. he did coach in the NFL and hired a bunch of NFL guys and stuff.
I'd hardly say they are "punting" on the 2015 class. The staff is out there visiting a lot of kids for this class. They aren't just visiting 2016 kids. With only 6 spots available, they do have to be pretty diligent in who they can get though.

I can't tell you how much I hope that Harbaugh is conceited enough to think he can just "punt" a recruiting class and overcome it next year.

The damage one bad class like that can do to a program is significant. You'll be playing short handed for 4 years minimum....and that's just if it's a "bad" class.

He's 13 days away from essentially not having a class.

So, the Beav expects Michigan to be back at Ohio State's level, and soon, under Harbaugh.

Given the fact that Ohio State's level is winning National Championships, I'm curious what he bases this belief on.

1. Despite being an above average coach, Harbaugh never won a conference title at Stanford.
2. Harbaugh has never proven to be a great recruiter- certainly nowhere close to Meyer. In four years at Stanford his highest ranked class (according to Rivals) was #20. Academic standards and blah blah, but he has the personality of a roid raging lunatic which I'm sure is golden on the recruiting trail.
3. The team he inherits is soft, entitled and is in a terrible, terrible spot at QB. Harbaugh had Andrew Luck at QB in his two most successful seasons at Stanford. He was 9-15 without him.
4. The chances of Harbaugh bolting for the NFL by season four in Ann Arbor are exceedingly high.
5. So far, he's done exactly nothing in the 2015 recruiting class. All other positions aside, he NEEDS a QB. Is he going to get Andrew Luck in Ann Arbor anytime soon?
6. His teams in San Fran regressed significantly.
7. Am I missing anything?

So, what exactly are the reasons for optimism again.

Is he going to make Michigan better? Without a doubt.

Is he going to get them back to Ohio State's level? That seems highly unlikely looking at the current evidence.

And when recruits get a load of his Super Bowl and National Championship rings... ummmm, sorry, I forgot.

He did stick it to SC despite being heavily undermanned.

well, USC was notorious for dropping games to teams that had no business beating them, like losing to a 6 loss UCLA team with a NC birth on the line in 2006, the notorious loss against stanford in 2007, losing to an average oregon state team in 2008, and of course getting beat by a 5-7 washington team in 2009. so, it's not like harbaugh stands alone with that accomplishment.
