ttun Shenanigans and Arguments (2015 official thread)

Easier than calling out his manball offense for not being able to pick up the first down that would have iced it or his decision to punt instead of go for it at midfield with 10 seconds left
Well, no. The right call was to punt it. But when they saw msu was going for the block (which should have been obvious), they should have moved to a max protection punt. Heck, they probably should have been in it from the time they sent the punt team out.

I wasn't watching at the end so walk me through it.

scUM calls a TO with 10 seconds left at the MSU 47 right? I'm assuming MSU is out of TO's?

If so you call a run to get 1 yard, if you get it game over. If you don't get it they get the ball back on their side of the 50 with time for 1 play. To my way of thinking there is less risk handing off than trying to get a punt off against an all out 11 man rush. Fewer moving parts and all. I can see both calls but not sending 4 guys down field to cover a punt return that was never going to happen one way or another.

All in all you are going to run a lot of that 10 seconds off with the run play and you have the upside of getting your one yard. Downside is you let them get their Hail Mary from midfield if you don't get it.

Maybe there should be a sign outside Michigan Stadium, kind of like one of those at an amusement park, "YOU MUST BE THIS TALL TO RIDE THE COMET." This one would say "YOU MUST OLD ENOUGH TO NOT CRY IF MICHIGAN LOSES TO ENTER."

no, no,no....by all means enter. Just sign this release so we can use you in any video's that may come from your time here.

Harbaugh called a time out before the last play, yet somehow the "Greatest Coach of All Time" did not think to call or maybe did not even think to have a max punt protection scheme. This was a big mistake by the "Greatest Coach of All Time". And if we can believe what the "Greatest Coach of All Time" said at his post game presser, the last thing he told his punter is that all he had to do was catch and punt the ball, which was another classic psychological mistake. He put failure into his punters head right right before the biggest kick this kid will ever attempt. If on the other hand the "Greatest Coach of All Time" had said "just catch and kick the ball, but if you get a bad snap just fall on the ball", the Michigan punter would have had a third thought to move to instead of shear panic.

There is one and only one person responsible for this loss and that person is not the Michigan punter or the refs.
