Nine college football programs have already secured a commitment from a five-star prospect in the 2022 class. Ohio State leads the way with four, followed by Georgia and LSU with three each, then Alabama and Florida State with two each, while Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and USC each have one.

1) Quinn Ewers | QB | Southlake Carroll (Texas)

247Sports Composite: 5-star | 1.0000 | No. 1 Overall | No. 1 PRO
Recruitment status: Committed to Ohio State
Measurables: 6-3 | 206
Player evaluation: Good height with a plus frame. Pro-style QB with athleticism and mobility that qualify for a dual-threat label. Elite improvisational QB who can extend plays and remain accurate on the move. Throws with a smooth, easy delivery and varies arm angles as needed. Impressive velocity and spin rate really show on routes over the middle and down the seams. Field-stretching vertical arm strength to consistently hit big plays over the top. Also shows encouraging touch on timing patterns and downfield routes that require it. Good runner by design or scramble. Understands how to protect himself as a runner and minimize shots. Shows encouraging pocket presence and awareness. Senses pressure and knows how to react to it. Also willing to stand and deliver under duress and will take a big shot if it means hanging in there to make the necessary throw. Occasionally will take risks, but that also is part of what makes him so good. Release quickness is good in general but could still quicken a bit at times. Elite QB prospect at the top of the 2022 cycle, at his position and across the board. Future impact high-major starter with long-term potential to be taken high in the NFL Draft. – 247Sports Midlands Region Recruiting Analyst Gabe Brooks
NFL Draft projection: Round 1 (Top 10)
Player comparison: Philip Rivers | QB | Indianapolis Colts

13) Jaheim Singletary | CB | Lee (Fla.)
10218505.jpg

247Sports Composite: 5-star | 0.9918 | No. 13 Overall | No. 5 CB
Recruitment status: Committed to Ohio State
Measurables: 6-1 | 170
Player evaluation: A physically imposing defender with a 74-inch wingspan. Already built well. A ball magnet of sorts that picked off eight passes as a freshman and broke up eight more as a sophomore despite missing some games due to injury. Has the ability to not only redirect wide receivers at the line of scrimmage, but also flip his hips and run with them. Does a good job of timing his breaks once in coverage, but often times relies too much on his length to make plays. Will need to get faster at the next level. Should develop into an impact player for a Power 5 program and eventually play on Sundays. – 247Sports Southeast Recruiting Analyst Andrew Ivins
NFL Draft projection: First Round
Player comparison: Jalen Ramsey | CB | Los Angeles Rams

17) C.J. Hicks | OLB | Archbishop Alter (Ohio)
10049815.JPG

247Sports Composite: 5-star | 0.9890 | No. 17 Overall | No. 2 OLB
Recruitment status: Committed to Ohio State
Measurables: 6-3 | 220
Player evaluation: Long defender who added good weight between his sophomore and junior seasons. Is growing more towards a true linebacker, but still shows the athleticism to play all over the field including out in space and even returned punts and played running back still at his size. Excellent blitzer who has explosive ability to shoot gaps or come off the edge. Additional strength was noticeable on his senior film. Ball skills are good, which he shows on offense and he should be a great coverage linebacker at the next level. Physically, he has it all. Next steps on his game will be to keep adding the weight and strength he already has, and continue to work on diagnosing offenses. But a high level prospect who fits well in today's defenses because he never has to come off the field and can line up in multiple spots. – 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Allen Trieu
NFL Draft projection: Second Round
Player comparison: Isaiah Simmons | LB | Arizona Cardinals

35) Caleb Burton | WR | Lake Travis (Texas)
9842984.jpg

247Sports Composite: 5-star | 0.9841 | No. 35 Overall | No. 4 WR
Recruitment status: Committed to Ohio State
Measurables: 6-0 | 165
Player evaluation: Lean, athletic build that can play outside or in the slot. Shows consistently impressive timing and high-pointing ability on contested throws. Meets the ball at the apex. Adjusts well with encouraging body control. Gets off the line quickly and on top of corners in the vertical passing game. Pairs impressive burst with good acceleration. Dangerous in catch-and-run situations. Generally a good hands catcher. Good football pedigree. Adequate to above average on-field long speed but can get faster at the top end. Missed virtually entire junior season with a knee injury suffered in season opener. Still, remains among the top prospects in Texas for the 2022 class. Possesses all-conference potential with long-term early-round NFL Draft ceiling. – 247Sports Midlands Region Recruiting Analyst Gabe Brooks
NFL Draft projection: First Round
Player comparison: Jerry Jeudy | WR | Denver Broncos

Scum looking to flip these guys?

Not sure where to say this, since only scUM has their own recruiting thread, but its crazy how essentially 2 programs(Kentucky and Cincinnati) have taken a good number of the 3 star and 4 stars who would litter B1G rosters. The players in OH that OSU wouldn't pursue, those players would usually look at schools like scUM, MSU, IU, etc, are now headed to those 2 schools. Ped St is pretty much the only school picking up some of those players, while the other teams now look at different regions to find talent. scUM knows they can't keep up with OSU without OH talent, that New England talent, and rag tag transfers isn't going to cut it.

Two highly-ranked prospects who were thought to be Michigan leans are now heavily CB'ed to rivals:

2022 WR Kaleb Brown (.9733 rating) to Ohio State

2022 DB Jaeden Gould (.9399 rating) to Penn State

Wow, you just hate to see it.

According to the fan base they "cooled" on both of them.

"These guys seem to have a good deal of talent. Maybe we ought to hold our horses here a little bit to make sure they're actually Michigan material." - Some young coach
Maybe they wanted to commit too soon and refused to coordinate their commitment with other 300-700 level recruits. If you’re not willing to #MobMove, you better keep looking.

Gee, what could possibly have transpired in Nolen’s recruitment that would cause him to abruptly announce a decision seemingly out of the blue.

It’s such a mystery.

It's a little crazy that the #2 recruit in the country makes one OV and is like "nope, I'm good", but crazier things can happen.

I have a feeling this is a long way from over especially if he commits to Florida and they have a crap season. He's from Tennessee so not a sure thing for UF holding on to him

I don't see anything there that makes me think he's going Florida. Everything I have seen up to now is Alabama or Michigan, Florida being the only outlier.

The Florida visit may have shown him he DOESN'T want Florida. I'd rather take that away from this tweet.

With all his twitter about Michigan I felt, and still feel, it's Michigan or Alabama.

But who knows. But Florida, just doesn't jibe.

Possible - maybe even probable - but he and his family basically spent all of June 1 at the Memphis camp with the JH and entire M defensive staff.

Maybe he decided after the UF trip that all the hoopla and pressure with official visits etc. is not for him since he already knows he's a Wolverine. (One can hope.)

No new CBs flowing in any direction for Walter so maybe nobody knows (edit: actually no ballz period). I would have expected at least a few for UF if the visit went that well and a commit was imminent.

It’s truly hilarious that these knobs

#1 continue to think they have a shot

#2 because they see themselves as contenders they can’t even mention that this recruitment might be dirty

#3 once they no longer see themselves as contenders, they will do nothing but complain about the recruitment being dirty

DFBIA gonna DFBIA, but also the cognitive dissonance that prevents them from arriving at #3 way sooner in the process is a special kind of stupid stemming from Michigan’s unique brand of condescending arrogance.

Yeah, you see this a lot. Kid takes a visit, then shuts down recruitment bc it went that bad.
