Hilariously predictable response to being left out of Nolen's top 3.
"Can't get over the hump?" Son, your team keeps tripping over its own feet about 20 yards before ever getting to the hump.

Adding to the pile of evidence that their recruiting strategy is to identify the players they don’t have to work for a commitment from, there is a sniff of competition for Deone Walker from Alabama (https://247sports.com/Player/Deone-Walker-46102934/) and Kenneth Grant from Ohio State (https://247sports.com/player/kenneth-grant-46082230/), so now they’ve moved on to Tawfiq Thomas, the #1026 composite prospect and teammate of current commit Mario Eugenio, where they are hoping to coast their way past Miami (Fl) and Arkansas as the best listed offers (who may or may not be actually pursuing) and Iowa State, Kansas, Indiana and others as teams that probably are.

As it looks disconcertingly like Deone Walker may go Alabama, and Kenneth Grant may go Ohio St (God forbid both), Michigan may have turned it's full NT recruiting gaze onto Thomas.
I’m sure their fingers are crossed they’ve finally found an under-the-radar DT prospect without enough upside for a team with a pulse to show interest in.

honestly....imagine if they had spent all their Nolen energy on Kenneth Grant, telling him how he's their guy instead of Nolen and how they see his potential while other schools don't. that probably still wouldn't be enough for when we came calling, but it's better than pretending you had a shot with the #3 overall player in the country. they know the only reason they ever get a kid like that is if they hire their high school coach or relative, and they didn't do either in this case.

never change, Michigan.....as if you even knew how.

But Nolen’s grandparents live near Detroit, they had a shot!
