Myles Pollard

I thought.... who?

In addition to this
the denial of [the reality that a #10-20 ranked class is closer to the #50 class in talent than it is to a to #1-3 class] props up their stupid belief that they are still right on the cusp of being great, when they are lucky to be keeping up with Wisconsin.
one of the other main tenets of DFBIA is that a listed offer from any school means they beat that school head-to-head.

That looks like the case with Pollard, who has a listed offer from Bama.

They can’t wrap their brains around tiered priorities and option B recruits for schools that actually employ a strategy and not a shotgun approach.

And of course, the third leg of the broken views on recruiting stool is their insistence that going after the #500-#1500 targets they do so much is because their scouting is so vastly superior to everyone else.

I seriously want more examples of prospects they think they were in on first before blowing up. If anyone finds any more let me know , because they mention it constantly, but never with any specific examples.

I have very little doubt that the only reason they offered Singletary was because of the following thought process: "he decommitted from OSU... he must not like OSU... maybe he would want to come here because we also don't like OSU"
Give them some credit, Hoke pretty successfully used this strategy to land OSU-spurned Ohio recruits with an ax to grind.

It’s cute that they 1) are completely ignoring Ohio recruiting for the most part if they are trying to reinstate such a strategy now and 2) think it will work for a Florida kid that mentioned “vibe” as an issue with Ohio State.

While it is true that Michigan most certainly has a vastly different “vibe” than Ohio State, I’m going to go out on a limb and say they’re not going to check the boxes Singletary is interested in.

Mangham made it pretty public that he really liked Michigan and then dropped us because it wasn't reciprocated....This is a non-issue unless you think the coaches are misjudging Mangham's abilities.

Mangham is a 4* from their own back yard. But they'd rather chase low 3*s from the South who dump them the moment the SEC comes calling. Brilliant strategy by the bright young coaches. When you are in a "beggars cant be choosers" type of situation it would be wise to take a kid like that who actually wants to play for you.

.......but he did want to play for tsun and could help you win.

I like the notion that they "aren't really misses" if Michigan doesn't get a instate guy, I'm sure they just passed on them all. For 2021 Michigan really did not want

Damon Payne #24 OVR #7 DL
Rocco Spindler #60 OVR #3 Interior OL
Garrett Dellinger #91 OVR #12 OT

 "Damn he went to Alabama? Our coaches musta not really pursued him"

Michigan never misses. They get every in-state recruit that they want except for recruits who go elsewhere because: (a) bagmen; (b) online classes; (c) afraid of depth chart; (d) couldn't handle the academics; (e) shady NIL deals. Does that pretty much cover it?

Why is 〽️ not getting in state talent!

How about 2-4 and a HC on the hot seat? Seems pretty cut and dry to me. Need to show something on the field.

This is the ministry of propagandas new favorite go to.

But once again, they are losing in state guys to MICHIGAN STATE. Who went 2-5 in 2020. So that excuse doesn't really hold up well.

I actually don't disagree with that excuse. Not that they were killing it before, but putting your HC on what amounts to a year-to-year contract isn't gonna inspire much confidence in recruits.
