Another "trust the coaches" special jumps on board

#833 overall, #82 LB, # 59 in CA
Michigan just keeps racking up those top-1000 prospects....

With this latest commitment, Michigan's average per recruit drops to 89.13, which seems insufficient to compete with Ohio State.

Yep at the EDGE spot. Steve Lorenz just tweeted out that Henry was one of our top two targets at the position.

He has a good frame and straight line speed, but I think he has room to improve his strength and bend.

DFBIA is convinced that "you can't trust any recruiting rankings or anything else besides what the coaches think this year"

Apparently Harbaugh and crew feel the same. "Hey that guy showed up and looks like he can at least stand on 2 feet, sign him up!"

This reeks of a complete staff that just doesn't want to put in any work in recruiting. Mob Moves a plenty!

It's almost like they aren't trying. They seem to identify the highest ranked recruit (still low) with no major offers and throw one out hoping for a quick commitment because they don't want to put forth the effort.

"What's the easiest commit we can get, where we probably don't have to worry about losing them later in the cycle" does seem to be the strategy

Unless you are DFBIA and want to believe Harbaugh is playing some kind of genius 4D chess where they are plucking out every diamond in a rough in the country who should actually be a high 4 or 5* and will eventually severely outplay their ranking. Which of course the chances of being true are slim to none

Except Walter Nolan of course. His rankings are totally legit.

All seriousness though, the "rankings don't matter this year" thing if the off season delusion of '21. They never fail to deliver and this one is every bit as prevalent, and laughable, as the BARWIS!!! stuff.

They are consistent. I'll give them that.

When the Ohio State/Bama/Clemson/UGA/OU type teams offer a lower ranked guy it usually brings the others out of the wood work and onto said player.

These low rated guys scUM is reeling in at the moment do not get that fan fair from other schools.

That says something I think. They are purely relying on the eye of unproven assistants at this point. Which more often than not is not going to work out.

A low 3* guy who immediately jumps at the opportunity to commit to Michigan probably knows that supposed offer from USC and Oregon were likely not a committable one at the moment.
