No doubt. At Michigan, at Michigan a young back can easily get inserted into their seven-man rotation for 3-4 carries per game.

at 4 or less YPC behind mediocre oline play.

Who wouldn't want that?

Blake Corum their supposed "dynamic playmaker" 4 star RB from last years class averaged a robust 2.8 YPC on 26 attempts this season. For example.

It's simply mind-boggling that any talented prospect looks at the dumpster fire in Ann Arbor and says to himself: "Yeah, I gotta be part of that!"

I feel like it’s part of their self perpetuating spiral... the talented players that do go there have defects that prevent them from reaching their potential... it’s hard to pinpoint exactly, but the closest I can come is the kids that want to feel like they’re already great without needing to work for it.

The whole “most wins ever” thing fits in perfectly to that mindset.

Or you can go for a 70 yard TD on your first carry of the year and still finish with less than 20 carries for the season. The possibilities are endless.

This. If you’re a 5-star recruiting who willingly chooses Michigan over programs like OSU, Bama, or Clemson then well...good luck to you lol.

This is a crossover from the shenanigans thread.

So they’re looking at the following prospects.

https://247sports.com/player/ceyair-wright-46049127/
Ceyair Wright
#6 CB, #77 overall

From LA and currently 100% projected to USC with 5 predictions. An MGoBlog poster claims ND is running 2nd which is likely delaying his signing, but he has some friends on Michigan’s team and visited once. Looks like UM is running third at best.

Rayshaun Benny
#16 DT, #194 overall

Committed to UM earlier in the year before flipping to MSU following UM’s embarrassing loss to the Spartans. This seems like by far their most likely opportunity to add a decent prospect at a position of need.

George Rooks
#18 DT, #259 overall

NJ prospect. Projections are split between BC (2), Penn State (1), and one guy I’ve never heard of on Michigan. It looks like they’ve got some ground to make up at the very least if they’re even in it at all.

Victory Vaka
#30 DT, #478 overall

Nice name. CA prospect 100% projected to A&M with 6 predictions. Was mentioned by an MGo poster but feels like grasping at straws.

And that appears to be it right now to back up Matty’s confident boast.

Also worth noting the major defensive staff shakeup they’re projecting right now.

I like the idea that they previously had to poach a DL coach from Navy (who shockingly hasn’t been great at recruiting...or developing talent) but they’re going to get someone better to step into their current dumpster fire under a HC on the autism spectrum with no job security (assuming he is retained at all).

If not and the entire staff is revamped, their shot at landing anyone else in the ‘21 class is basically zero.

Fun stuff.

If you’re a 5-star recruiting who willingly chooses Michigan over programs like OSU, Bama, or Clemson then you are probably saying that you do not want (or are afraid) to compete with other 5 stars for playing time. You are content going to a mediocre program where you will be handed the starting position (i.e. playing time, etc.).
