This is what I've been talking about regarding Speight getting flustered and throwing it dangerously into coverage when pressured. UW and CU are the closest that UM will see to OSU's secondary (though neither had a very comparable pass rush).

Colorado 1st quarter video
Pass 1 - unpressured, nice throw outside, completion.

Pass 2 - pressured, tries to throw while getting sacked, throws it straight to defender, narrowly bounces before DB

Pass 3 - unpressured, screen pass behind LOS, 3 yd gain

Pass 4 - pressured, throws into double coverage, front DB right on butt, overthrows him by 3 yds, lands at the feet of a safety (who oddly doesn't dive for it). Two near picks in 2 pressures.

Pass 5 - pressured, unblocked blitzer (not blindside), fumble, returned for TD (no actual pass made)

Pass 5 - pressured, heaves it up into traffic and does not give Darboh a chance, lands in the DBs hands. Great D by darboh to stop the easy pick. 3 near picks in 3 pressures.

Pass 6 - unpressured, overthrows WR who is blanketed by DB. Not sure if he was actually attempting that or throwing away. First throw after injury rehab (leaving field for a play).

Pass 7 - mild pressure, drag route to Butt is wide open long before it arrives.

Pass 8 - unpressured, throws it to well covered Darboh, ball passes through DBs hands (likely pick six). 4 near picks.

Pass 9 - pressured, racing around pocket, ball flutters and lands 4 yds from closest WR, who also had blanketed coverage. Another dangerous pass, though this one didn't land at a defender like the others.
Colorado 2nd quarter video
Pass 10 - unpressured (mostly), speight takes off forward, then checks down to Hill. Def in position but looks like a DL so maybe not likely to jump route.

Pass 11 - unpressured, playaction pass down right sideline (n, underthrown by 5-10 yds, hits DBs foot. If he finds the ball sooner, that's a potential pick.

Pass 12 - pressured, overthrows blanketed WR, lands 3 yds past DB that would not have been disrupted by WR had it landed shorter.
6 pressures, 5 dangerous passes closest to defender, 2 other passes fluttered past D & WRs.
Pass 13 - unpressured, wide open drag route underneath to Butt, catch and run for big yards.

Pass 14 - unpressured, multi-screen, checkdown to butt for 2 yds.

Pass 15 - unpressured until late in play (DL breaks free and hits Speight after throw), finds Butt on checkdown for 10+ yds.

Pass 16 - pressured, unblocked blitz off edge, nice step up and scrambles for a solid 4 yd gain instead of a sack

Pass 16 - pocket collapsing but time to release, pretty nice back shoulder throw to Chesson just out of bounds though.

Pass 17 - unpressured, double pick (without contact, very well executed) to free up Butt on drag route underneath, easy first down

Pass 18 - mild pressure off edge (RB picks it up), Speight checks down to hill at LOS, who picks up 7 more yards.

Pass 19 - unpressured, playaction, overthrows WR (double covered), DB drops INT in the endzone.

Pass 20 - unpressured, looks for Darboh along sideline (blanketed though a nice late arm separation by Darboh), overthrows him.

Pass 21 - mostly unpressured, screen pass behind LOS, TD.
Halftime tally: 8 pressures, 6 throws to D.

3rd quarter video
Pass 22 - unpressured, naked bootleg, keeps it for 2 yds.

(Smith TD sweep next)

Pass 23 - unpressured, checkdown near LOS, Smith catch 2 yds.

Pass 24 - pressured, swing pass tipped by LB, Smith adjusts and catches it for a loss.

Pass 25 - pressured, screen pass tipped by defender's helmet (bounced straight up dangerously but landed out of harms way).
10 pressures, 8 passes to defenders.
Pass 26 - mild pressure (by design, not counting that as pressure), inside screen at LOS to Isaac for first down (nice vision and elusiveness by Isaac) and 15-20 yds.

Pass 27 - pressured, sacked, and considered throwing it when about 2/3 of the way down.

Pass 27 - unpressured, steps up to buy time and forces defender to step up, finds Perry for 10 yd gain behind that that turns into a 50 yd run. Nice play by speight.

Pass 28 - mild pressure, rolls out freezing defender (who stopped tracking Butt), another drag route to Butt for 3 yds turned into 15.
12 pressures, 8 passes to defenders, 1 sack.

4th quarter video
Pass? 29 - naked bootleg, 2 yd scramble. I can't decide if this is a designed run or not.

Pass 30 - pressure but blitzer picked up by RB, Speight releases it immediately into tight coverage, nice catch by Darboh around DBs hand. I wouldn't describe this one as dangerous.

Pass 31 - unpressured, yet another near pick six. Thompson breaks on the late throw outside and drops it.
13 pressures, 9 passes to defenders, 1 sack.
Pass 32 - pressure, rollout, checkdown to butt for first down.

Pass 33 - pressure, sacked.
15 pressures, 9 passes to defenders, 2 sacks.

Now Speight didn't always panic. He had some nice moments where he managed the pocket, relocated and either picked up short gains (instead of big losses) or found time to create passing lanes. But there were a lot of passes that hit defenders in the hand or could have been picked.

If I have time, I'll do the same thing to analyze the Wisconsin game.

First Half video vs UW
Pass 1 - Pressured, nearly sacked, shakes free and picks up 1. Newsome oddly races away from DE

Pass 2 - unpressured, crossing route 12 yds sideline to Butt, who picks up another 10.

Pass 3 - unpressured, 3 step drop, quick out to Chesson for 5 yds

Pass 4 - unpressured, ball thrown late and inside (open early/outside, as Brian pointed out). safety closes, nearly picks off pass.
1 pressure, 1 near pick (not via pressure).
Pass 5 - unpressured, 2 yd drag route to Chesson, 6 yd gain.

Pass 6 - unpressured, 3 step quick slant to Darboh for first down.

Pass 7 - pressure, naked bootleg, designed pressure, checkdown to Evans right in front of him. Nice play design.

Pass 8 - unpressured, playaction, forced into Chesson, defender drops the pick

Pass 9 - stares down Chesson, tosses it up and Jehu hauls it in for a first. LB lurking nearby that didn't jump the route. Not counting this as dangerous but not advisable vs OSU.
2 pressures, 2 passes to defenders (neither via pressure)
Pass 10 - pressured, tipped by DL, bounces sideways out of harms way.

Pass 11 - unpressured, drag route 4 yds turned into 20. Cleared out by Butt over middle (perfectly legal route).

Pass 12 - pressured, overthrows perry (blanketed). Appeared to throw it away, out of harms way.

Pass 13 - pressured, spins out of trouble and then tries to force it to left side. DB with an easy pick (possibly for six), drops it
5 pressures, 4 passes to defenders
Pass 14 - unpressured, quick drop, quick slant to Darboh for 5 yds.

Pass 15 - pressured, screen behind LOS, 2 yd gain. (this is not textbook pressure as it's expected and has play set up)

Pass 16 - pressured (smith whiffed on block vs Watt), sacked, tries to fling it out to Butt while being dragged down
7 pressures, 5 dangerous passes
Pass 17 - unpressured, playaction, overthrows open Darboh inbetween 2 dbs.

Pass 18 - pressure up middle, dangerous pass outside. DB falls down when breaking on pick.
8 pressures, 6 dangerous passes
Pass 19 - unpressured, screen pass

Pass 20 - pressured, sacked

Pass 21 - unpressured, tosses up jump ball but underthrows it inside, offensive PI
9 pressures, 6 dangerous passes, 1 sack
Pass 22 - unpressured, swing pass in flat to RB, 3 yd gain.

Pass 23 - pressured, floats it outside for chesson for 25 yds on busted coverage outside. Nice read and catch.

Pass 24 - unpressured, throws it into heavy coverage, LB jumps route, tipped to another defender for a long INT return.
10 pressures, 7 dangerous passes (w/ 1 INT), 1 sack
Pass 25 - unpressured, fake sweep, designed checkdown to Chesson for 5 yds.

Pass 26 - pressured, rollout, coverage sack (zone shut down crossing routes)
11 pressures, 7 dangerous passes (w/ 1 INT), 2 sacks
Pass 27 - unpressured (relatively), checkdown screen to Butt for 5 yds

Pass 28 - unpressured, playaction, thrown into double coverage. Overthrown by 5 yds, safety closest to ball. Not getting listed as dangerous due to inaccurate throw.

Pass 29 - pressured, sacked.
12 pressures, 7 dangerous passes (w/ 1 INT), 3 sacks
Pass 30 - unpressured, checkdown to Poggi, 5 yd gain

Pass 31 - unpressured, quick hitter to Darboh, dropped (heard footsteps). Good throw by Speight.
12 pressures, 7 dangerous passes (w/ 1 INT), 3 sacks
Pass 32 - unpressured, checkdown to Butt for 3 yds

Pass 33 - unpressured, quick hitter to Darboh, 15 yd gain

13 pressures, 7 dangerous passes (w/ 1 INT), 4 sacks

scUMs offense is going to have to get a whole lot better if they want to keep the game close in Columbus this year.

Yea the D "held" Wisconsin to 7 points, but thats really not saying much, the Badgers offense is beyond awful. Their QBs combine for more INTs then TDs and they rank 98th in yards per game sandwhiched in middle of Fresno State and Miami Ohio.

Once again as well scUMs run game was rather mediocre against a decent defense. 44 runs for 130 yards....that's 2.95 Yards Per Carry, not good at all.

Colorado is the best offense they've played so far in comparison to Ohio State's and they were having pretty good success moving the ball before their QB got knocked out of the game. We saw how well they defended this offense last year, yea Zeke is gone but it's pretty much been plug and play with Weber and Samuel. The chances of the bullets making Speight and crew look stupid is much higher then their defense stopping Barrett and Co on a consistent basis.

They were also up 21-7 after the first quarter and led 28-24 early in the third quarter. If Colorado had anything resembling a defense and Liufu didn't get hurt, Michigan might not be undefeated right now...

punting cost them more than anything else but yes, Colorado was very much alive in that game

tsun is a paper tiger. It's all built of Harbaugh's bullshit.

Scum has a few issues going for it.

Offensively- their offensive line play in the run game has been underwhelming when facing medicare to good teams. Their QB is not good under pressure and they're one of the most predictable offenses I've watched. Short yard situations= run to Hill the fullback and on 3rd and intermediate they're going to run a crossing route with Jake Butt.

They purposely do dumb ass things like line all 11 players up in a row because they're so underwhelmingly predictable. All that and it was still a run straight forward to you guessed it Hill #80

Defensively- there's no denying their dlineman are good and they have one corner that does a good job. Also Peppers while not anything special in coverage does go a long ways in disrupting plays.

However in the one game against a solid defense they go down 21-7 and if not for 3 special team plays by scum they're down pretty handily at the half. They gave up 300 yards rushing to UCF who had a mobile QB and had all sorts of issues against Colorado through the air. They still struggle with scrambling QBS, runs to the edge, and particularly their safeties are slow rotating to cover the seams.

I'm sorry but a dominant team doesn't give up 300 on the ground and get shredded through the air to the teams they gave them up to. It's not like Navy rushing for 300 it was UCF. UCF.

To beat osu you're going to have to put drives together and drive the field. Because JT Barrett isn't going to throw 3 INTs and they aren't going to win the field position battle with us having Cam Johnston. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see it end like last year's skull dragging.
