ttun News (2016 version)

Dude, you're talking about a bunch of oxygen thieves who regard a coach who didn't ever win a national title as the greatest coach since Fielding Yost. I doubt you honestly think there is any hope they'll be cautious this time around. Which, of course, means Urban and the Buckeyes will have to beat em, and beat em, and then kick their goddamned dogs, and then beat them again. Again and again.. until the end of time.

Sounds fine to me

Was looking over their roster and noticed those derps had nine--count 'em, nine--QBs on their roster, seven of whom with apparent eligibility left:

Wilton Speight - 6-6 235 So. Richmond, Va. (The Collegiate School)
John O'Korn - 6-4 220 Jr. Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (St. Thomas Aquinas)
Shane Morris - 6-3 209 Jr. Hazel Park, Mich. (De La Salle)
Zach Gentry - 6-7 230 Fr. Albuquerque, N.M. (Eldorado)
Alex Malzone - 6-2 218 Fr. Farmington Hills, Mich. (Brother Rice)
Matt Thompson - 6-5 214 So. Cincinnati, Ohio (Indian Hill)
Garrett Moores - 6-3 211 Jr. Northville, Mich. (Detroit Catholic Central)

The two of those nine who will graduate or have exhausted their eligibility:
Brian Cleary - 6-3 205 Sr. Grosse Pointe, Mich. (Detroit Jesuit)
Jake Rudock - 6-3 208 Gr. Weston, Fla. (St. Thomas Aquinas) starter

Projected depth chart after Rudock's departure, based on the depth chart on their official site:
Speight
Morris

They brought in one QB in their 2016 class:
Brandon Peters - 6-4 209 Avon, IN (Avon)

This looks to be a season chock full of lulz at that position...

A true embarrassment of riches. Naw. Just an embarrassment. Period.

Won't argue with you about the lulz, but I thought John O'Korn (late of the University of Tom Herman) was thought to be the heir apparent to Rudock. He's coming off his forced redshirt year following the transfer.

He is. Great freshman season. Hideous sophomore season before losing job to greg ward, triggering a transfer for John (all before herman). Ironically, John and Jake were both St Thomas Aquinas products.

The last two on Mili's list aren't scholarship players and gentry has moved to te (at least for now). I would be shocked if they didn't lose 1-2 qbs very soon. I'm still shocked by the Morris redshirt.

I'd be shocked if O'Korn doesn't win the starting job. He led St. Thomas Aquinas to a HS title in 2012 and took over as the starter at Houston in 2013 as a true frosh after David Piland was forced to leave football due to concussions. O'Korn threw 28 TD passes and was AAC rookie of the year in '13 despite not starting until Week 3. In 2014 UH had a lot of problems on the OL so O'Korn struggled; he was recruited to run the Air Raid like Keenum and Piland and couldn't really climb the pocket or escape and extend plays at that point in his development (true soph, 16 starts, terrible OL). UH tried Greg Ward Jr in Week 6 to see if his mobility would help the offense, and Ward never gave the job back. O'Korn saw the offense Herman would bring in and transferred right after Herman was hired.

I think he could be excellent under Harbaugh and is certainly not going to be threatened by Speight or Morris.

It's pretty much a foregone conclusion O'Korn is going to be the starter. I think he even has two years of eligibility left.

Morris will probably get his degree without ever stepping back on the field. He says he has no plans to transfer.

Never even heard of Thompson and Moores

Gentry will redshirt, for sure.

One of the great con-jobs in recruiting history right there. Five stars, zero touchdowns, five interceptions. Every evaluator that agreed to him getting five stars should be stripped of their credentials.
