The purge has begun early (and been added to the chart, along with some rankings).

On a sidenote, the majority of the UM fanbase believes that this is an Ole Miss offer reaction instead of what should be pretty obvious by now.

I still love how the scUM fans are buying into the notion that this "happens everywhere".

Not at this rate......and the way it's happening, Harbaugh too chicken shit to tell the kids to their face so he just stops calling like a high school girl (A common trend amongst all of these kids, but I'm sure they are all lying and its just the media trying to make Harbaugh look bad!)

It does happen everywhere, but not almost half of a class. It's common for a few guys to get dropped for personal issues, or even being "recruited over" due to poor performance as a Senior or whatever, but it's readily apparent they were just taking bodies to fill holes until they could find somebody better. If this was the first time, you could chalk it up to harbrau!!!11!!1!! feeling out the recruiting process at his new school, but this goes back to his days at Stanford.

The question is.....will any of their 4 current commits still be in the class come signing day?

http://michigan.247sports.com/Season/2017-Football/Commits

only 1 of them even cracks the top 300 in 247s composite. For their sake hopefully they have backup plans in place.
The fans share your outlook. They also think Michigan is doing them a favor increasing their exposure as um seat warmers.

Lots of schools wiggle out of verbals. No one else fills up a class full of guys they'll only take if no one else wants in. I'm not sure why either. Those guys can be had later. Do they want the hype of top ranked class since everyone else will not fill up for half a year?

This last decommit just verballed in December. Many of their seat warmers sat down right before or during their senior year. Why not slow play them before the verbal?

This isn't Stanford, at least not the one he rehabilitated. They can get these guys anytime.

One would think that if they keep going at this rate, pretty soon there wont be anymore "backup plans" willing to commit to Michigan and they will be forced to reach real deep at the end when they end up whiffing on higher rated guys.

Last year the reason was obvious. Harbaugh needed to generate momentum and justify the usefulness of the southern camps. As you've suggested, this cycle he may want to grab some more temporary wolverines to get the commit class point total up. Hey- Western Michigan was top 15 for a while before ending up a MAC best 69th.
