you guys are just being reverse homers.......
No, I am being an objective basketball fan. I readily admit Tom Brady is (my IMO) one of the best QBs in nfl history, even when other Buckeye fans won't. I have no issue with Webber and think he was a pretty damn good player, but to say he was in Karl Malone's league is absurd. Take an "unbiased" poll somewhere else and see how many people think Webber is in Malone's zipcode. You'll get laughed at. Numbers do not tell everything...especially in basketball. Jimmy Jackson had similar numbers to Jordan's numbers one season...so he was in his league, at least for that year, right?

Malone averaged 5 more points...
yep. just 5 points. heck, that's not that much of a difference. i mean, it's not as though malone averaged 25% more points per game than webber did.

edit: truth be told, malone averaged 21% more points per game than webber. 21%: a trifling amount.

Some absolutely laughable officiating so far. That is twice the ref waited until the shot finished before deciding to whistle, the latest one way after the foul by kebler.

Meanwhile novak blatantly slid under Lucas to draw a charge, shoved payne into a travel, yet other Wolverines get hit with two ticky tack fouls.

MSU did not make a shot for over six minutes. They finally stopped missing everything, and the margin remains the same.

19-10 um, now 19-12 after the first decent set play all game by sparty.

Edit: MSU cuts it to 5 after a painfully awkward drive and turnover by the poor but often used ball handler Douglas.

scUM logic always starts with "if" followed by a ridiculous sequence of events the result of which is an equally ridiculous conclusion which makes them feel better about themselves, and leaves the rest of us more realistic people scratching our heads. As an example, I could probably retire right now if I had $10 for each time I heard a scUMmer say, "If Crable wouldn't have gotten called for that personal foul on Troy Smith (note they won't even admit that it was a penalty--further delusion), UM would have beaten OSU in '06 and gone on to win the NC game because UM was better suited to beat Florida." Reality must suck for them.

Who is "they"? Yeah it was a penalty and the right call.

Every fanbase uses the what if. What if Cooper wasn't our coach? Biakabutuka just got lucky against OSU and he sucks. If we played like we did against Wisconsin in the 2nd half we would have won (football). Well Purdue and Wisconsin had to play the game of their lives to beat us (basketball). If they didn't we would have won. Some people act like every call goes against OSU in football or basketball and there is some conspiracy out to get them. Newflash, every team gets bad calls against them. Not blamming OSU about bitching about calls because Michigan does as well along with other teams. Does all that sound familar? Don't act like Michigan is the only fanbase that does that.

Novak airballs a three but is bailed out by a dumb and blatant foul by green after the play.

Green blows by to the hoop for an easy basket. He later missed a few inside but I don't get why they don't let green clear out against novak all day long. He can get to the hoop easily.

Novak tries to take Roe off the dribble and gets rejected into a turnover.

Lucas is just terrible this year. Truly stunning.

Michigan State played the toughest schedule in college basketball this year. Still, I am surprised that a Tom Izzo coached team would spiral downward like these guys did after the overtime wins at home against Wisconsin and Northwestern. This is a team that could play its next-to-final game in the first round of the Big Ten Tourney and its last in the first round of the NIT, if they get an invite. I'm just very surprised.

Horry doesn't hit that three and Sacramento probably goes on to win the championship that year. That's what I meant. Give him one ring and that probably would have put him over the top.

No, it wouldn't have put him into the HOF.

20.7 and 9.8 career averages aren't HOF-worthy and he was never considered truly dominant. Granted the NBA can sometimes resemble AYSO soccer and everyone gets a trophy, but it's not the Hall of Very Good, it's the Hall of Fame.
