ttun basketball (Juwan out, Dusty May in)

My response was that Horford's transferring could mean that everyone else is jumping ship, implying that GRIII, McGary, and Stauskas are all going pro. As a result, Horford will want to avoid the impending .500 season. My rebuttal was more of a credit to your basketball team being able to produce NBA talent than anything else.

His father made some pretty telling comments months ago, for whatever that is worth. McGary is probably leaning toward going. He was very close to leaving after his freshman year. His stock is still high even after an injury. If I am him, I'm worried about coming back, getting injured again and losing the opportunity. They all risk injury, but he's already missed almost an entire season. Speculation aside, he's a closer call and I wouldn't be shocked if he came back.

I think Robinson should come back for another year. He has all the ability in the world, but hasn't shown the mentality to be consistently good. Even if he doesn't answer those questions next year, at least the draft will be thinner and he'll still be a good prospect. And if he does answer them, he could shoot up draft charts pretty high.

I just wonder if pride would get in the way of Robinson staying. If he see's Stauskas and McGary go, he may think he's just as deserving as them. It would be tough to lose all three of those guys.

You guys must have seen a different McGary than I did. Same with Stauskas. These aren't NBA players. If the goal is to get paid as soon as possible.....sure make some money of idiot NBA GMs. But neither of them are lasting very long in the NBA at all.

Player A is Gordon Hayward. Hayward is averaging 16/5/5 in the NBA this year, albeit as the focal point of a bad offense (similar to ET in Philly).
Player B is Stauskas

I see Stauskas as 95% of Gordon Hayward, he's a couple of inches shorter and not quite as good off the dribble but a better long-range shooter. I think that Stauskas can be a pretty effective NBA player, likely best suited as the offensive engine of a second unit + end of game player.

Unless Robinson can find a jump shot on the side of the road in Ann Arbor, he'd better enter the NBA draft this year and pray that some NBA GM still thinks he's anything more than a slasher/dunker (because he's not). Chad Ford had him at 15 overall in his first mock last year which is laughable now--as many have said, he's widely regarded as a second rounder. If he returns to Michigan he may be lucky to even be drafted as his weaknesses will be even further exposed.

The only way I see it making sense for McGary to come back is if he can't convince GMs that he's healthy--he's just too old and it's just too risky (as evidenced by this year--he was projected at 12 overall(!) and now is a 2nd rounder) otherwise.

Stauskas, even though I think his limited athleticism and lack of any defensive ability will keep him from bring a good pro, should leave if he's going to be a mid first rounder, especially considering how much McGary and Robinson returning to Michigan blew up in their faces.

Not sure what's going on with Horford. Mike saying he isn't jumping for the draft is the most obvious thing ever.

Just FYI--"a couple of inches" is light years in the NBA. And that's the least ridiculous aspect of your post.

On MGoBlog, one poster asked a question about how their season would go if they lost all 3 plus Horford. The vast majority thinks that they will finish right behind Wisconsin at No. 2 in the B1G with a 2/3 seed in the tournament. Delusion has officially taken over.
