That's just the type of team that they are. They will get focused for teams like OSU, Kansas and Syracuse and play "up" against them, but this is a UM team that isn't really that good - you know what they say, what goes up, must come down. They are too young & inexperienced to play consistently well. They will bring their "A" game for a couple games and then follow it up with a "D" game.

for some strange reason, they also tend to play top-ranked teams fairly tough at home and get buried by everyone else on the road including the tough teams that they played hard at home. Syracuse was an entirely different story.

Look at the bright side.

Unlike football there are 2-3 teams in the B10 who actually play worse defense than tsun in basketball.
